erice 732
as above, naval bronze for wet salt water use, if at all possible ... stainless steel, brass, bronze are all alloys some modern versions of all 3 alloys have been developed for marine use and should be fine, if you can find them but just buying/using the cheapest stuff that looks 'right' can work out badly if it wasn't developed for 'marine use' Aluminium makes brass stronger and more corrosion-resistant. Aluminium also causes a highly beneficial hard layer of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) to be formed on the surface that is thin, transparent and self-healing. Tin has a similar effect and finds its use especially in seawater applications (naval brasses). Combinations of iron, aluminium, silicon and manganese make brass wear and tear resistant.[9] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brass
waikiore 400
Always use silicon bronze screws from the US or Great Britain to fix on your Brass rubbing strip , as brass screws are for indoor household use and have the strength of cheese.
