eruptn 95
Two questions: 1) What are people using for an antenna ? 2) Are the marine radios (like Fusion,GME) better than a car system? In terms of sensitively etc. Currently have a car system but reception is very poor.
Jason128 6
I would be very cautious with splitters- I have seen two first hand that degrade the vhf transmission significantly. Both were very near new- and a popular nz brand I would rather have a second aerial and know the vhf is going to work properly.
CarpeDiem 431
Vhf antenna with a basic splitter. Just using a cheap as 4 speaker Supercheap Auto stereo. Maybe try connecting your vhf antenna cable directly to the stereo? If that works replace your splitter.
Black Panther 1,592
Use your phone as a radio and bluetooth to a portable speaker.

Dtwo 157
I use the VHF aerial at the top of the mast with a Vesper splitter. This deals with AIS/VHF/AMFM. Works like a charm. I did install the recommended aerial from Pacific Aerials.
