darkside 65
Why not? Maybe because most are 230v feed? They don't have to be. We had a really good SSB setup, a mini M and had an Iridium go for a while but I'd back starlink any day to talk to someone who matters. In a medical event or similar starlink is ahead by miles.
Jon 407
If that’s the case yes I have an Irridium go, but I’d do a video call to doctor if i had a medical emergency Mini is 12v thIs will be the issue with dealing with a government department, the rules will be the rules. Administered by people that have never sailed offshore in a small vessel YNZ have had a shocker here

He has been advised it has to be Iridium or HF radio. Interesting, I have done multiple trips to and from NZ with only a satphone. I have just done 1700 miles with starlink and I'm sold. In fact I tossed the ssb last week.

Correct that Starlink is not accepted.

Yep, pulled ours out while in Fiji, Island Time has it collecting dust in his garage until he finds a user for it.
