muttley 0
Well the temp repairs are complete and a couple of us are heading up to give Cam and the guys a hand to bring the BG home this Saturday. We have a crew of Six the guys have been running a watch system on the boat moving as the weather does around the island for over a week now. Davie Norris and his team had a good weather windo to get plenty of wet lam and c-plate on the boat. The weather for the trip home is in general pretty good with the possibility of a bit of breeze approaching North Cape. We will have a Ocean going tug standing by during the passage they leave for Norfolk tomorrow 10 knot average for the tug. We will keep you posted. Cheers,

ec12nz 1
Query - how come the builders - Cooksons - didn't go up for the repairs and Davie Norris from Christchurch did? Hmm leaves a question hanging...................
VERGE 1
Query - how come the builders - Cooksons - didn't go up for the repairs and Davie Norris from Christchurch did? Hmm leaves a question hanging................... Pehaps the AC 72 construction answers that question. Resources at 100% with no reserve to deploy to Norfolk.

floatsome 0
Cookson will probably build the new BG hull, bet its not a Farr...
Kiteroa 8
Cookson will probably build the new BG hull, bet its not a Farr... Maybe so, but you do have to remember that Farr is a design office, not a composite engineering firm. So it's not fair to blame them for the yachts structural issues. Farr didn't do the engineering. Guest Saturday Night Special
The way I understan it and (and I may be wrong ,have been before) The Farr office is a design office although Russel Bowler is one of the most experienced yacht design structural engineers in the world, he has experience first hand when R Honey And B Jones were still in Nappies, whether or not the Farr Office engineeres the boat or not or specifies laminate weight and deflection who knows
muttley 0
Beau Geste is at Gulf Harbour we cleared customs this morning arriving around 7.30 last night, thankfully uneventful trip we had very little wind for the first 24 hours then a northley of up to 40 knots, but running with the storm jib we just cruised along at around 10 knots. Yesterday was spent motor sailing using the staysail and here we are. Not strange sounds or new cracks, Great work Cam, Matt, David (Killer) and Chewy for keeping it all together at Norfolk and Davie Norris and team for the fly by repair work. She looks a little like Frankenstien with 300 bolts sticking out of her! Cheers, Muttley
