There were two complete rigs, almost. Two masts, both fully rigged, two booms, that matched the masts. Two Mainsails, one of which is pretty tidy. Noticeably absent were any jibs, or any kites. The rudder was there, but the timber blade had rotted inside the 'glass, and it weighed a ton! The trailer looked ok, albeit a bit rusty, but nothing serious. More on that later. Point it right across the start line and there will be no OCSs, not during the second race at least.

I was reasonably tall with long legs. The bike was super quick, as Dick Lawton was known in road race circles for building the Suzuki TR500 gp road bike that was faster than the factory bikes https://amcn.com.au/editorial/smokin-suzuki-xr05/ for Keith Turner and others. The first race start for me had me overshooting the first corner and hearly flying off a bank, luckily I was stopped by a fence, such was the speed difference from my own bike.

The change in window rules is a major change for offshore sailing multihulls. For keel boats the rule changed from "you need to carry shutters" to "you need to have them fitted". For Multis the rule changed from " you need shutters or strong windows" to "shutters must be fitted." Old Regs: Nearly all offshore sailing NZ multis have extremely strong windows and a plan to deal with breaking one of them i.e ply the right size ready to be screwed in. These new regs are pretty unworkable for most of the multis I've spoken too. It will weaken the window frames/cabin top, p
