So I chopped and channeled the old bus with a bit of help from my friends, lockdown therapy. What started out as a relatively simple remove the back coaming job to make it easier to get in the dinghy got hijacked by "friends" who happened to turn up as I was setting up to finish the job and said Dont stop there, the transom is only 200 away! Me with grinder in hand, them on dock watching, result big hole in boat! Totally unprepared for the major but with some tips from people much cleverer than me and entertaining the whole pier who also offered plenty of free advice about 30 t

We need some leadership from the Cindy kindy which makes it legal to ask for proof of vax and exclude people or not as per there vaccination status. Then we can organise events with some kind of structure to base them around. I know you don’t need to say “Tell him he’s dreaming”

Without a thread drift to the "international event" that cannot be named, I think a lot of people are going to be head cases after this and not at all in ready to race but needing to deal with a whole backlog of commitments then go cruising. This feels so true now!

Can't really give a weight as there are big differences even between alloy poles depending on wall thickness and end fittings used. Weight difference for a carbon pole would be reasonably significant from a handling point of view. FLC... wouldn't a deck mounted pole be a PITA? Hard to access anchor locker, trip hazard etc... ??? Wouldn't it be better to make something more like the attached image but somehow make the splash/bow wrap attach to the toerail? I reckon if you made a nice product (which judging on your other work wouldn't be a problem) it would be quite saleable! Key
