  1. f**k BooBoo - that's scarily impressive!
  2. Piver now on the market http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-marine/yachts/multihull/auction-880758268.htm
  3. Not to mention your effortless, well practiced and very stylish tacking technique! Oh and stunning boat which I'm sure I've mentioned countless times!
  4. yeh went past her yesterday up the Tamaki - was admiring as I approached it long before I saw the name on the side. Didn't realise she was there now - about 300m south of the might Krisis.
  5. If you were able to stretch a little more - then Te kooti is also worth a look
  6. My setup on Euphoria is very similar to Feedom except that its 8:1 also where it looks like there's is 6:1. The traveller block is a double fiddle while the aft boom block is a a double block with a block beneath at 90deg (not sure what you call this). Then I just have a double block as the next setup forward. At the mast end of the boom there are two singles, mast base are two standing foot blocks spring mounted on a saddle bolt and finally cheek blocks at aft of the nacelle. Sheet end lead back to a pair of crappy plastic winches which are really only there as "ratchet blocks" - stole thi
  7. If you can't spray then use perfection by international over interprotect. Having done this with my GBE I'd recommend getting it sprayed though. 2 coats each of primer, undercoat, topcoat is a hell of a job rolling and tipping.
  8. Matt - its a firefox vs chrome issue. Chrome automatically resizes the image to suite the site width but firefox does not. There's probably a default setting to change.
  9. Ah - awesome! Paxfish - that's the traveller sitting behind the aft beam - the honey combed I-beam. She really is a pretty boat! Again - well done Ex-TL forgetting her going again.
  10. the same councilor who, at the last meeting where her and looney len voted to proceed, said she couldn't understand what the fuss was about because as far as she was concerned it was just a benign issue.
  11. not to mention more central, pretty much at the end of the three highest volume motorways in country, next door to the port (for now  ) easy public transport access from Brotomart, settling fetch for the prevailing SW. Ah well. The planning drawings do look good though
  12. The idea of using Manakau as a replacement location was reviewed quite extensively. The conclusion was that the quantity of moving sand is so substantial that a large barrier would be need to be constructed to control this movement. Rather than dredging the channel they would need to dredge and dump to maintain the volume movement. They weren't sure if they could keep up though!
  13. erice - just found the setting - oh the peace and serenity!
  14. Over the last few years the PoA have produced a number of very condecending documents and that one is right up there. It clearly illustrates that the fingers they want to build now are just a red herring and merely just their means of pissing in the corners to mark out what they want as their territory. Their end game has nothing to do with berth space, length or depth and everything to do with aquiring cheap land as close as possible to the port to park cars and empty containers. The Council are horribly conflicted becasue they know that anything they block simply gets reflected in their di
  15. Er . . . isn't that the point? Last year Council voted to oppose reclamation - why would you need continuous protest as a consequence? This year they've been king hit from behind by the POAL based on a legal opinion that this morning has been referred to as wrong in law. This latest act by POAL has brought on the protest action we now have. Are you suggesting that we should protest continuously something on the basis that, even though our elected officials might act appropriately today, they may not tomorrow? Shame we can't drag out your alternative . . . I'm sure Matt would have t
  16. You raise some interesting points. Re Wellington - let's hope for their sake they take heed from the crap we now face ourselves with. Re harbour usage - I think it's more about the loss of public accessible and amenable navigable waters for recreation and the associated view from significant public points in the city than it is about where racing might take place. I am interested In having you clarify two things for me please. When last year was this news - point me to a news article please. Also I'd like to know your alternative - please point me to it on crew. The current board seem
  17. Need to put up a pic of Careless Intent's traveller - that'll make the yank go real tropo!
  18. . . .so I haven't turned this laptop on since before xmas such is the schedule that is my life nowadays . . . As I sit here gulping down beer by the gallon listening to Toy Love on the turntable here's one for you Bill. This is my screen saver on my home laptop. I've looked at this now for many years and always like to think of Bruce as a guy out in front. Where is his little multi? I'm gonna say this now about 10 years old - back when the club just moved to the Vic. - others can correct me. I took this from the tank farm one race when Tim's dad said he had the start under control.
  19. cheers Tim - never a truer word spoken (though there are two words missing in the last part of your statement ; - "go" and "multis"!)
  20. you need to get your butt down here - the cost of the airfare pales in comparison to the savings you'd make by crawling around on other people's boats!
  21. while we're on the subject of tramps - lashings etc. - what's the view on individual lashings vs a continuous lashing line down each side (or indeed around the whole perimeter). Currently my tramps are individually lashed.
  22. When ever I'm motoring I always feel like I should chock the motore so that it is negatively raked on the transom and chuck a heap of weight on the bow. From what you're saying Tim - it seems like that would be a bit pointless?
  23. I'm interested in this as well. I get about 7-8kts with my 8hp merc long shaft with the stock prop. boat is only 1000kg
