Hi All, Does anyone have any experience with Perfection two pot paint - does it need two top coats, or is one enough?

Is Kick back in NZ yet? If so - how did it all go?

I’m quite keen on getting one - but you don’t see many on the market. Anyone know of any that might be coming up for sale?

Well I’m guessing it was sold. I think it was second edition that was on the market before Christmas on trademe listed at 120. Gone off trademe pretty quick though

I had a good look at Kick as well, but when you factor in the exchange rate, shipping (or sailing) duty, gst etc it’s getting up to what you would pay for one here. I think I’ll just wait for an NZ based one to come on the market - a whole lot easier. I did like the cockpit layout on Kick though - so maybe.......

Hi All, A bit of a stab in the dark here but hoping some Crew.Orgers are about. We are anchored in Haruhi Bay, Waiheke and our dinghy has come adrift. Our location is 36 - 47.755N 175 - 00.992E It’s an inflatable with kiwi yachting refurbished pontoons and a Yamaha outboard on the back. It also has our gennaker in it as we trawled it today and soaked it. Just tried reporting it to Coastguard but they are busy at the moment. Hope you can help. Peacekeeper.

Got one of those on my boat. Great little engine, runs like a sewing machine when cruising at about 2400 revs. Very smooth.

Hit it on two different tacks? Looks like they were doing on purpose almost?

Thanks- one more question if you don’t mind. I’ve been looking at the VSR and noticed that the wires going from the VSR to the battery isolator switches are quite small in diameter - about 6mm, certainly not battery cable size. Could this affect charging efficiency when the motor is running?

Thanks, just checked - engine battery is on load side, house negative is on the battery side. So I just need to put the solar neg on the load side to have it seen by the monitor, is that correct?

Hi, The monitor is a BEP Matrix DC monitor - so not a computer - monitors voltage for house and engine batteries, shows amps charge or discharge, and shows a percentage of remaining capacity. The solar panel has a MPPT Controller then to the battery. Seems to work okay, but I’ll move the negative to the shunt. The shunt seems to have a negative from the house battery on one side and a negative from the engine on the other side of it, with a smaller wire heading up to the monitor - does that sound right?

Hi IT, I have a BEP Matrix on mine and it appears to be wired up as you describe (negative lead to the shunt first), with the exception that the wires from the solar panel regulator go direct to the battery terminals (so it still charges when the batteries are isolated). should the negative from the solar panel battery go to the shunt instead of the terminal? And if so which side of the shunt? Cheers Paul

Peacekeeper (Carpenter 29) did the Auckland -Suva race a few years back. They are rock solid boats with a really good strong rig on them. I think Stormy Dawn did the round North island too. They would easily handle an off shore cruise.
