  1. Yes, it was amazing service from Whiting Power. Now back in Tga and the props performance has been excellent, too. Westhaven marina service has been great too, very responsive to help you into a berth without propulsion after sailing in from Great Raining Blowing Barrier Island.
  2. All sorted now thanks to Booboo.
  3. Thanks for the offers of assistance. I now have a complete prop after Booboo found an old one lying around. I dived under and fitted the blade yesterday and tested it. All OK. Now I can get back to Tga when I need to, thanks heaps Booboo. A new prop on the way from Gori - quite reasonably priced too.
  4. See classified section. A blade fell off my saildrive and I am needing some assistance. I am currently in Westhaven and will need to return to Tga soon Andy 0273031477
  5. I am stuck in Akld and my yanmar sd20 saildrive 2 blade folding prop for Young 1034 has lost a blade. Can anyone help me with replacement parts or prop Andy 0273031477
  6. Thanks, I was going to contact HMB as I've stayed there before. for your berth do you have to go through the office or can it be direct? I was hoping to try Orakei as it was closer to Ellerslie which is where our Xmas festivities were being held.
  7. Does anyone know of a 12 m marina berth available for rent from around 23rd December until around New Year at Orakei or Half Moon Bay area? Andy 0273031477
  8. Structural Analysis is supposed to be listed with Gulf Brokers, I think.
  9. I think that yacht (Structural Analysis) is a very special boat, bulb et al and is for sale, sadly, as the owner/builder/designer is suffering from ill health. It could be a cheap ride for someone.
  10. Hi Changed, what make is your raft and who services it? Mine was yearly checks and when serviced it was overstocked despite specifying for Cat 3. It was a valise type from Safety at Sea I think.
  11. Has anyone else used this app RaceQs.com to track your club races, it is free at present and at Tauranga we are getting a few people using it. This link http://raceqs.com/regattas/48400 shows a sample of our last club race. What do you think?
  12. I have brought this up because some liferafts are sold as Cat 3 but have no overhead covering so are much like a paddling pool so they must be an inflatable dinghy?? They are much cheaper to get inspected plus less weighty and bulky, which is good in that you are much more likely to have them on your boat during normal usage and combined with a readily available grab bag full of safety gear such as flares that are current and don't have to be duplicated for the Cat 3 & raft certification.
  13. For out of date doesn't mean unsafe, when you take apart and inspect these raft they look to be in as new condition and they don't need to be full of items that are not needed for Cat 3 races, as it seems that the inspections can be done, to a level far higher than is required and it costs you a fortune. As well as that there is a conflict of yearly or two yearly inspections that are needed depending on who is doing it? Also, some Cat 3 liferafts are like a paddling pool?? No roof/cover - what's with that?
  14. For Cat 3 it appears that an automatically inflatable dinghy painted with Do not overinflate is acceptable. So does this mean that an out of date liferaft can be used if called a dinghy?
  15. I saw that KM but the berth is not available then as the refit will be finished by then, but even more silly of me is that I need a berth at Half Moon Bay, not Bayswater. I wonder if I can change the heading to Half Moon Bay??
  16. Does anyone know of a 10-12 metre berth available for rent from mid-December to New Year? If so, can you give me a call Andy 027 3031477
  17. Doyles had a show deal, I think - upgrade to next level of sail. Dacron upgrades to radial cruising laminate. I haven't had a reply yet but it is early days. I was after a No. 2 Jib and a Main.
  18. We went on Friday, had a good look at the Beneteaus. Staff were helpful and friendly even though the 46 and 51 were not in our league - great space and features, I thought. The Oceanis 38 was amazing for its use of space, the pull out partitions were a good feature and the all round little touchs were great. Elan boats were great, the 37 at $217,000 was really good value. The Jeanneau and Sunfast area was good, the entry staff were friendly and the 36 was still in amazing condition despite it's recent use. No scent at all of rum on board, or battle wounds.
  19. Like KMM said, for a shower, heating up bucket of water and using a plug in electric camping shower is a great option. The shower head can be hung off the boom and a bucket goes a long way, Solar showers never seem to get hot enough, I reckon. Also, making a shelf set out of plastic storage boxes (fish bins etc.) that can be removed for racing and preloaded at home with the necessary items. If I could load an image then I could show you what I mean.
  20. I know him well, he is on holiday in the UK until mid-September, PM me for more details if you like or call Andy 0273031477
  21. Vilda Hilda was sold to a Tauranga resident and renamed La Rochelle, I think there is also another one in Whangarei and for sale recently on Trademe.
  22. I think mark room applies as they are all rounding the mark.
  23. Great, keep us informed about your progress, I'm interested in the bulb cost and the keel strut costs mainly.
  24. I really like the racing, I would love to be there but video coverage is in some ways better and this higher speed sailing is one of the best aspects of the foiling cats. Now, with up to 6 entrants things will get interesting, for sure.
