Fish 661
Surely these road closures are dependent on what course is being used? I'd assume the closures around the viaduct are planned if there is a big victory celebration. I can't see why they'd cause all that disruption while the round robin racing is going on down the back paddock? I found and read the AT rules and notices to mariners yesterday. Says things like wear a life jacket, take two forms of comms, you can use you paddle board or windsurfer, but don't take it out into the harbour. The actual notice's to mariners are very vague. They use terms like 'may', transit lanes 'are being established', but the rules for the transit lanes aren't in the NtM's, they are on a different page on AT's website... Also, the maps for the transit lanes show little anchor symbols along the edges, which I think means we can stop and anchor in the transit lanes? https://at.govt.nz/boating-marine/americas-cup-information-for-skippers/ and https://at.govt.nz/boating-marine/local-notices-to-mariners/#lntm54-
alibaba 14
Whoever is responsible for the organisation is a fail in my book. Many boaties do not read NTM anyway. I belong to 2 yacht clubs and coastguard, and there has been no notification of how to use the transit lanes, speeds, directions etc, and whether they are operating at which times of day. Devonport roads have also been shut down for all parking, even in Devonport village itself. So- you'd better be fit if you want to get to NOrth Head to watch- that's IF they are using that course anyway. I guess if you put the harbourmaster's dept under the control of AT, that's what you get.
erice 357
anyone when and where they will announce which course each race will on?

So in the middle of the Christmas shopping period, they are shutting down Devonport village? Retailers must be choking.
