How many of you have signed the petition? If we ant any fish left at all, the quota system needs to be dumped and replaced. Oversight must be removed from the fishing companies. Cameras on fishing boa

This is a political thread. Consistency please, move this one as well.

Its is based on the Faroe islands fishing policy. https://www.faroeseseafood.com/fishery-aquaculture/fishery-legislation-and-management   What it means roughly.Govt buys back quota, then

Thank you Sealords.

NZ should be proud to have stand up corporates like you. Now how do we get all the deros to adopted Sealords excellent corporate culture around the fishing rules?

I don't get this excuse - the ability to geo-fence something in the marine environment via a basic chartplotter  via  a polygon and various waypoints has existed for years. Seems like a cop out to me.

Bit of a Claytons forfeiture

Sealord will be applying to the court to have the vessel returned, but during the meantime have been permitted to use it in the normal course of their fishing operations.

"As Ocean Dawn has been forfeited to the Crown, we will now apply to the court to have the vessel returned to us. In the meantime, we are permitted to use her in the normal course of our fishing operations."

Yep, apparently the process will be costly but they are highly unlikely to lose their ship.

Great headline though.

“The price of fish” illustrates the gross incompetence of the MPI.

That the scientists and whistle blowers have been ignored for so long suggest some heads should roll.  The “first man” is a fisho for gods sake; rattle your dags man!

FYI, on demand on 3 for an over view of why our fisheries are In such a state. (If you missed it) And if you don’t care you’re part of the problem.

The show was interesting, not much new in it, lacked balance on some very key points and it, like this thread, did completely ignore the massive Moa in the room. I tuned in just to see what they were saying about it only to see them dance around it, that was disappointing but not unexpected.

That Moa could change things in seconds and right across the entire industry.......if it choose to do so. Until that Moa is most likely bribed to the tune of millions if not billions I'm not expecting any significant change.

Oh and someone needs to get rid of the other big block, Winston, he's been brought and paid for many times over big Big Fish.

Once again, KM, you don't vote, apparently because in your opinion it wont change anything, you don't support this attempt to change the current decimation of our fisheries, cause it wont change anything, and your post above is cryptic.

I really cant see why you bother to post. Your post wont change anything...
