ScottiE 174
Not often I'm too lazy to do my own research but got a big day on the boat. Anyone know where this is being shown, streamed, broadcast?
ScottiE 174
Nevermind - its live streaming on the race website. http://www.rolexsydneyhobart.com/news/2016/pre-race/how-to-watch-the-2016-rolex-sydney-hobart-yacht-race/
Battgirl 23
Fingers crossed it works better than last year
ex TL systems 63
awesome coverage would be great to have something like this for the coastal classic
Battgirl 23
Yes it was great coverage and the way Oats threaded the needle was awesome!
Island Time 1,235
Enjoyed the start! Loyal doing well, not so much CQS

Battleship 100
Oats out. Hydraulics issue. Loyal leading Giacomo 2nd 10 miles ahead of 3rd
Romany 162
what was the story with CQS? Wallowing around at the start like a bloody big whale. Early days for the campaign I guess but I'd be disappointed if I were them
The big T 41
Had to tack as a smaller boat came in on starboard. Motor stalled and had to quickly manually release keel rather than a controlled swing.
wheels 543
I am sure I have never seen such a tight field of boats this far on into this race. Usually there is an obvious way out in front, but I am nit sure I would want to take a chance and call it yet. And the slower pack at the rear is anybodies race. ScottiE 174
Line will be done by the time I wake tomorrow. If they finish per the current line rankings then NZ will have 2 in the top 5 (Karl Kwok growing closer and closer to moving here I rexkon!) - pretty sh*t hot non the less! Clipper 343
Giacomo 2nd on line! Awesome. 2 hours behind loyal and 2 mins before scallywag. http://www.rolexsydneyhobart.com/standings/?raceId=107&categoryId=472&raceTime=
ScottiE 174
Beau Geste is dueling up the creek with Maserati. Less than 6 NM to go
ScottiE 174
2 NM out - nothing in it. BG ahead by a whisker but at half speed.
erice 732
well done loyal they had to go through their bad years oats is having 1 would have been a big ask for CQS to crack it right out of the shed after such a massive rebuild fingers crossed for giacomo on handicap
erice 732
the 1hr 28min start video http://www.rolexsydneyhobart.com/news/2016/day-1/2016-rolex-sydney-hobart-live-broadcast-replay/ has race start -2min at 28min CQS lying down at 33min and a good rundown of the design at 1:17min
ScottiE 174
Tide has turned and wind has shut off. Got to 1.4nm from the line but now going backwards. Black Jack is on there now as well.
Battgirl 23
It's great Giacomo finished second and are likely to take the Tattersall Cup for overall win which would be tremendous
Romany 162
when will that possible outcome become a certainty?
