Don't know of any rowing ( as opposed to paddling) versions. Though i met an Aussie who did a small powerboat version of a proa, something akin to a proa tinnie. Said it blew his socks off the speed he could get with very little horsepower. Can't remember the numbers coz I don't do powerboats, but he loved it.

Wasn't it a pain taking the outboard from one end to the other when shunting?

I had a quick row in a 2 person rowing dory a few years ago.

Wickedly fast easy rowing, tippy as all hell though. :D

It also has a sailing rig, but there is no way i'm up to that.

I saw the owner stick the gunnel under in a gust inside Clyde Quay

Will do. I guess about another three hours work and I'll have the skeleton intact. Unfortunately at the current rate of progress probably a week or more away.

Meanwhile wondering about rowlocks. Don't want tacky plastic ones for this boat.

Building it is cheaper than therapy, so what i do afterwards is less important, but I'll go for a row up and down the river.

BTW, the first planks went on Sat.
