B00B00 310
Na David its not the price of the wine tasting, for me its the distance between the 2 points, not that its a major drama but from stillwater to the bottom end then back to kawau and then home means longish trips every day for us. On a small boat with 2 kids under 3 and a pregnant wife I would perfer to just hang out at kawau for the 4 days and chill out, family perfers that and its easier to keep them happy. But looking forward to the potluck and some rum drinking at mansion house.
Guest
Thanks Booboo, stuff like that helps. Any other starters fo rthe wine tasting? If we can't get numbers it won't happen.
Fogg 427
Squid, my reponse is exactly the same as Booboo's i.e. I'm likely to have a combination of family and friends on board (poss inc elderly parents) and whilst your proposed itinerary might be fine if the wind and weather God's all aligned, it could also be a bit of a hike for a boat full of passengers looking for a relaxing w/e without the need for clocking up big mileage. So I'm also more likely to just hang out in the Kawau area and meet you guys there.
Guest
Thanks again Rob, no problem if we end up with two somewhat discrete fleets, Waiheke for Aucklnaders and Kawau for Northeners.

Guest
We now have a kids price of $7.50 (no alcohol), but I still need more numbers or we go back to a potluck on the beach or a raft up or something.

Guest
ANNOUNCEMENT: We have canned the wine tasting. So the current scenario is meet up somewhere friday afternoon for a potluck and socialising. Actual venue will be decided by about thursday and will be chosen with respect to the weather forecast. The goal is to cross my transom at 2pm as described earlier. Go Ashore around 4pm, it's dark by 6pm so those who want an early night or have children etc can retire, if anyone wishes to continue they can do so. I may try a big rum punch in a plastic garbage can. Then we'll repeat the whole process on Sunday at another location. If the weather permuits the first location is somewheere around the bottom end of Waiheke, the second around Kawau. I suggest all interested parties send me a txt (021 760 621) in the week before Easter with their boat name and I will make sure everyone knows where to go. Also someone tell me a VHF channel we can use without pissing anyone off (No, not 16 Ethel).
