  1. The whole saga is not a winner for the yachting community. It will only make the council even more bureaucratic and/or restrictive on allowing moorings.

  2. Hi, I have a 40ft Fountaine Pajot cruising catamaran moored at Bucklands Beach, Auckland with which I have been sailing throughout the Hauraki Gulf and to Great Barrier Island, Kawau Island etc. I often have space for extra crew whether experienced, semi experienced or new to sailing. If you are interested in joining us for day, weekend or long weekend trips please message me for details.

  3. The key is that he was not on the mooring offered by the council, but another similar, the council just wanted it to go away so paid. As far as a competent yachtsman and a loveable rogue goes, the first three mutinies he suffered points the other way. I wonder if Classique is still tied up at Robertsons (the salvage yard ?? referred to in the Herald where she has resided since the harbour bridge rest)

  4. Regardless of the mans capabilities. He was using a council/harbourmasters approved mooring for his vessel, as the findings show was laid incorrectly. As renter of a mooring how would he know if laid correctly or not. Would it not fall under the consumer act??not fit for purpose?.

  6. Hey Bad Kitty. SailGP is going to be awesome!! If you’re sailing down I’m also running a rally with my other business Island Cruising. Departing early March. Will be having a party in Akaroa, cruising Banks Peninsula, another party in Pigeon Bay the weekend before, then will recommend best options for anchorages depending on the weather for Lyttelton too. It comes with a rally guide book, connections to everyone else on the rally, crew if needed for the passage, help getting prepared discounts & goodies from our sponsors and I’m hoping to get a tech site tour for rally participa
