  2. Yes M they are generally budget and inexperienced sailors, but not all, some are very experienced sailors that have been there done that and have very expensive boats and will be doing it for tax reasons. So the regulations are missing the ones that need it most in my personal opinion ( this is what I’ll take back to YNZ ) not sure what the answer is here, met some great guys on my 4th ASS course earlier this year that planned to head off. like you said we hauled a month out so we could depart with new Antifoul and that would be one less issue to worry about up here and on returning

  3. The router has it's own power (12v). I leave the GoFree in what's called "infrastructure mode". Can't recall if that's the same terminology that the Zeus uses. So the zeus has Internet access and can access predictwind and download updates. And any device that connects to the GoFree has Internet access. Laptops, tablets, phones etc.. And my navionics boating app just sees the zeus and can do the updates, get nav data, share wpts and other apps can get nmea data from the zeus. Yes I have a 4G subscription for the router.

  5. As much as it is a PITA, when I had similar issues on my Vulcan, (with the same software) I did a system reinstall and it worked again. so you could try downloading the latest software update and try that?

  6. I use a 4G router as a gateway. I have 100BaseT between the GoFree and the router. The GoFree then becomes the AP for the boats Internet access.
