  1. I can thoroughly recommend an Elliott 1050 - there’s one on trademe at the moment!
  2. Otherwise Doyles in Rosebank Rd can supply the stiff battens.
  3. I’ve got a full body harness on board. Currently in Huruhi Bay. If you want it your welcome to pick it up.
  4. Cheers - I was mainly using the wind map, but these tables look good.
  5. Hi All, ‘was wondering what most people use in the Predict Wind models - mine is usually on ECMWF, but do others find any particular model the best for the Hauraki Gulf?
  6. The sealant on the windows had become so sun damaged the black pigment was leaching out, and one started to leak. Knifed out the old sealant and put new in.
  7. Good call, and sounds like a good day out.
  8. How did they get on? @lebleaux?

Where can you the Washi tapes from?
  11. I’ve had good service from this guy https://maps.app.goo.gl/LLKd7pM7YZXgv7rr5?g_st=ic
  12. I didn’t say they were building it to shut the ferry down - but completion of Penlink is the rationale for ending the ferry service. So it’s not a naive statement
  13. Auckland is surrounded by water which is essentially free transport infrastructure - future transport planning needs to factor this in and look toward developing a comprehensive ferry service from a range of points around the city. Replacing a ferry service by building a new road (pen link) is just dopey.
  14. Saw it had moved this morning and wondered where it had gone
  15. Definitely not Rudolph. He said that he used to have a bit to do with the boat back in its day - knew some of the sailors. He had been trying to buy it for some time and had a couple of court cases in the process. Seemed very enthusiastic.
  16. I spoke to the guy who bought is when it was about to go back in the water. He said he planned to take it up to the Mahurangi where he had some land and was going to haul it out up there and work on it.
  17. Saw it on a marina at fairway bay last week
  18. Yes agree with that. We had a Carpenter for a fair while. Great boats and sail well. One has done the round North Island, and our one had Done the Fiji race. They sail well and are pretty safe.
  19. We went away on Monday down to Man o War. Had a few nice days but took the sth easterly change to sail back yesterday morning. As usual whenever I book a couple of weeks leave a cyclone shows up.
  20. BP - are you up north? - or heading to GulfHarbour?
  21. How did you get on with your recent sails? Did you get a chance to play with the mainsail, twist etc?
  22. We’re back at Gulf Harbour. Quite a few others coming back in today from either Rakino of Coromandel with a few hairy rides in the easterly swell. I’ve got more leave in February so fingers crossed for some settled weather.
  23. Looking like very strong easterlies for the first part of next week
