    The underlying social problem is many boats simply cannot get insurance while others face often ridiculous and expensive hurdles.

    I was always worried the plough was a little undersized, but according to some chart somewhere my chain was a tiny bit heavy. Only times I have dragged was when the idiot skipper miscalculated the tide range. Anyway I have bid on this supreme (trademe). Looking forward to taking 20lbs off the bow.

    Interesting, I have done multiple trips to and from NZ with only a satphone. I have just done 1700 miles with starlink and I'm sold. In fact I tossed the ssb last week.

    Ive been stirring about cat 1 for cruisers for a long time. Eventually decided life is short, registered offshore, problem solved.

    Yes, I will go coarser next time. Do this by allowing a bit more time after application before hitting with the roller, then play with the pressure on the roller as above.

    Yes. It is very easy to apply. Next time I will touch up segment by segment as required.

    Mine is 3 yrs old, ready to do it again. Much easier this time as the substrate is fine. 2 days tops.

    Believe it or not it was in the same locker as my sextant and tables. F**k I'm getting old!

    As liveaboard I've never caught a thief, but i have towed several boats up the river, rescued a boat when the pile actually broke, secured countless sails and canvas covers and pulled lots of debris and plastic out of the river.

    Have you purchased or are you searching? I was going to toss it, but hey that was my only national title. I never rose to such glory again.
