  3. Found TOAD marine but they just have gaskets and seals, i will pull the pump off today for inspection then hopefully source some parts locally to rebuild.
  4. I take it yanmar parts are that expensive! What did you replace the engine with?
  5. Fresh water pump on our 3gm30 bearings have gone and can hear the the impellor blades hitting the housing. Rebuild or replace? If replace is there anywhere to buy reasonably priced parts for Yanmars?

We chose this race as thought it would be a good way to learn the new boat, and qualify for RNI well ahead of time. We feel it was a well organised event, at briefing it was put to our attention that our safety is at the forefront which is very reassuring to know the organisers are looking out for you. Great race, while our result wasn’t fantastic is great to see a good bunch of 35 footers out there. We definitely didn’t have the gear the other 35 footers nor some of the 30 footers had but we still enjoyed ourselves and learn’t lots. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to prizegiving d
  7. Meister is a modified Challenge 29 and has never had any signs of osmosis. Very solid and roomy boats.

Good to see Gale Force is going to be on the start line!
  9. If i had that attitude i wouldnt own a boat because yes it is to expensive. That is another issue, people are getting lazy and don't want to put the extra work in to make something achievable/affordable.
  10. There still are cost effective options out there, we pay $700 a year to keep our boat on the piles and we use the dry out grid for small bits of maintanance and then use the slip way for doing anything major. All is alot more work but keeps boating affordable.
  11. I feel that i sit in the youth Catagory being in my late twenties , i have done the dinghy scene, RNZYS youth scheme an etchell worlds and 420's. When i was in the opti's and P's it was very easy to get demotivated when competitors parents updated their kids sails every season upgrading to carbon masts and foils etc. while i still produced some very good results it was always hard competing against someone elses deep back pocket. I see that as one area where the youth can loose interest at a very early stage. I was very fortunate my family had a few keelers in my childhood which we we
  12. Yes right way up but no mast that i saw.
  13. Just been towed into Gul Harbour, now sitting on the work berth.
  14. Condensor was isolated from the rest of the system luckily and i have a spare condensor to pressure test so hopefully not all bad
  15. Have already removed form the boat to pressure test. If my spare 1 is no good i was wondering what options are out there that are economical?
  16. Pressure tested condensor to and it was a fail. Air leaked into the gas lines. Luckily i have a spare condensor that i will test tmrw. If that is no good what options are out there that can use the same freezer and tanks?
  17. Roughly how much refrigerant would a system take? Understand each is different depending on size.
  18. Splash day tomorrow for Kick! Very excited to see all the hard work come together.
  19. I have a cat 3 raft you could borrow, just a donation towards its next service is all i ask.
