  1. It would be heavy bunker fuel so should only seep out unlike diesel??
  2. Possibly outside Auckland Harbour Masters area but defiantly falls under Auckland council jurisdiction.
  3. serious $35 for 2 glasses?? thought my 2 double rums at the viaduct was robbery $28 for 2
  4. Should the British suck up the oil for sinking the Bismark or Tirpitz?? Many hundreds/thousands of submarines/u boats/ ships merchant and navel slowly rusting away in our oceans,20,30,50 yrs going to be a disaster. is there not a bug/micro organism that eats oil? Just thinking of the exxon valdez still doing the damage despite the clean up.
  5. Ours is a company offer. No unions at our place.Still prefer not to work public holidays but as least I get Sat/Sun off Pretty generous as 3% of hourly rate extra if start before 4.00am or 10% extra to work saturdays works out roughly $150 extra taxable though but they dont have to do it and some still moan, easy work, pallet on pallet off, very little manual work and still cant retain staff.
  6. I am today.double time.Roughly $72 ph and it's a 12 hr day.rather not be working but big boys/girls want greasy food.. Driver.
  7. AT grow some balls, pay your drivers or we want a refund??
  8. Seems simple to me, pump and water on retrieval goes through a big filter similar to what they use to pump water from sewage plant before water goes back to sea like at mangere,
  9. And now need to purchase a hop card if commuter's to use AK train/bus network, Lets see how long NZ bus drivers keep their jobs, not collecting fares next 3 days,be regarded as theft me thinks. Just go back to the good ole days of Ara buses?
  10. Next week. Commuters need to find their own way from Papakura to CBD
  11. So Thomas has been a naughty engine, the Fat controller steps in, now Bertie and Bulgy the buses gets their wish, down with trains.😂

And would all this building be going on if Dalton/Etnz didn't go to Spain??
  13. And the joke?? They're going to put buses on from papakura but the drivers are on strike.
  14. No the train didnt run the light,. For the train to run the light suggests its automatic so then the fault would be with computor system but thats not the case. The driver did,why did he/she run the light and does he /she still have their employment is the question? Have been thinking about White Island, active volcano and that is a risk you take? Metservice gives bum forecast and you have a diaster, can you then sue metservice? All based on computor modelling but White Island monitored by Geonet so are they answerable to the diaster?
  15. Why would a simple style gold suction dredge not work?? Bring ashore and dump it rather than what we are told, put it back, treat it like didimo?
  16. H&S is required but some the ideas are impractical. Working in a Sheetmetal shop late 70s,the Labour inspector turned up and explained how a guard was required on the pressbrake machine, was pointed out once foot off pedal machine stopped,But we put the guard on as per instructions, the labour man came back to inspect, was then shown certain operations couldnt take place with guard on,thats when he walked away and never returned.
  17. Like the idea of suction dredge.
  18. H&S is a complete joke, we have monthly H&S meetings at work, resolutions reached but not followed. A lot of policies are detrimental to the business. Just get the job done. We recently had a work accident out on the road at a customers site. The person involved should of been instantly sacked but because we were short of staff. The employee involved(newbie)wasn't time(apparently to sign them off)had the incident and company wearing the cost due to failure on side of the company. A few yrs a go a person was killed on our site. Due to being in a hurry ,opened dock door to see what
  19. The question is,why did they dive there, very strong currents. Did someone report it as found on anchor??
  20. fair enough but surely there must be some resposibilty on seller/broker to inform me that there are rules/regulations I need to know before venturing to sea?
  21. as a veseel owner, should I need to find out rules/regulations before leaving mooring/ramp/marina or should a governing body display rules regulation in prominent positions? Currently no licence/rego requierd so why should I know the rules?? https://www.maritimenz.govt.nz/recreational/rules-on-the-water/#:~:text=It is your responsibility to,the rules before heading out. It is your responsibility to know and understand the rules before heading out.
  22. suspect if they look hard enough the gulf will be a mat in several direction from the barrier, tides stop for no man
  23. Been watching "channel patrol" on prime tv,talk about congestion but no real danger, why?? because they have proper harbour patrol with real harbour masters doing their job and a coastguard watching radar etc ashore, their lifeboat crews would be equivalent to our coastguard and their coastguard would be what our maritime police should be doing.
  24. Proposed temporary fisheries closure of Great Barrier Island (Aotea Island) and nearby islands Tēnā koe, The Motairehe Marae Trust, supported by iwi trust board Ngāti Rehua Ngātiwai ki Aotea, has requested a temporary closure to the harvest of scallops, pāua, and rock lobster, from the fisheries waters within 3 nautical miles of: Great Barrier Island (Aotea Island) L
