Eke Panuku and Tataki Auckland just sent out an email full of excuses, contaminated land etc etc. Absolute rubbish, this is another example of Panuku (who is that anyway -name names stop hiding) failing their owners you and I the ratepayer . We watched on Port owned land in Christchurch -yes it was dusty dirty and smelled a bit dieselly its a working wharf normally -nobody cared or noticed. They dont use a bunch of names nobody understands to hide behind down there...... Wayne you need to roast some behinds-the Auckland Moana festival just lost one of the drawcards -and certain

I have seen this happen three ways 1 with an overtightened gland -not normal 2 with broken engine mounts -sometimes 3 with Novasteen (Tufnol) type stern bearings machined without enough clearance -or nylon types -they all swell . Vesconite is the only one that doesnt. -Quite common

Christchurch was ace this year so I will be back next year, accomodation hmm. Bit of a poor show Auckland unlimited... is this the Port company again?? Or as i suspect, there was just not enough on land room , dont worry they want to get rid of the Downtown carpark as well so people wont come to town at all soon. I well remember a great Whitbread p155 up on top of that carpark for all the sponsors a year or two back -hot sun free flowing anything you desired-it was lucky that no one fell off .

Half way here now -with girls first and third , the one that started with a dirty hull has pulled out unsurprisingly. Some good racing in mid fleet the Tasman will be interesting.

Interesting concept drawing -showing buildings for which there is no consent or application, strangely offering the Iwi parking for their Wakas , this was first offered by the developers of the 800 berth Wilkins and Davies marina which Akarana supported till the collapse of the project when we took it to appeal. Most of their Waka ama are left lying around there anyway -though strangely I have never heard them moaning about the hardstand cost unlike the keeler owners next door.

A pity the Herald cant spell Sanfords in the headline on that company, Editor where ???

In two years you will all laugh, its here get over it , people are going to the barrier all year not just at Christmas

Well done to the two Piedies he would not have made it without them coming back in to the Milf and discovering him

Some of them still in South Africa?
-
Not just their Winter series , their cruising and offshore programmes were great, however the place was run remotely by some of the old guard through the late eighties and early 90s with not so many sailing actively -then there was a big slump in membership -before the marina was built and the new crowd (spencer -dinghies Marine Sport centre takeover)

And long standing sponsors shifting their focus after large yacht clubs forget that they are there to support and promote yachting in NZ.

Weather looks promising if a little damp North, more than 150 starters
-
Not finished temporarily (overground) bypassed
-
Yes they always have after a big rain period, when they let it out the old Orakei line, probably safer there over the last two weeks whilst blocked as most was being diverted to Beaumont street new outlet and the other new one west of the harbour bridge.

I still believe that multiple locations are being modelled, as opposed to tested-havent seen the summer helicopters yet!

Except that for our older yachtsmen (me included) who recall clearly the days prior, everybody did a little everywhere -now we have large launches exiting Bon Accord , North Cove , Man-o-war and inner Fitzroy and immediately dumping a concentrated 1000 +litres in one place -this has been proven in the states and Europe to effectively kill the bottom in that area. Hence the move away in parts of America from holding tanks, lakes and inland waterways excepted. I dont know of any M class or 18' skiff sailors who suffered sailing past the sewer at Orakei when it was in full flow prior to Robbie ge

Yes watched the first two go past the Milford racing fleet last night
-
Nice tight race down the coast for the lead two near the Bay now
-
The water is a lot deeper off the Milford start line than Narrow Neck-just saying. And starting around North Head means all records cant be used anyway.
-
No but motor racing is becoming more attractive as the apartments creep down to the water at Westhaven and Panuku raises prices again and again
-
And the tide is coming in till midday at Okahu Bay that day , so as long as nothing has stuck to your appendages will should be sailing in good water....
-
The worst flow is out the end of Beaumont street, not off Parnell or the Orakei sewer so Devonport outwards should be fine and it will have had three days of tides by then

I wonder if Akarana will let them finish in our polluted harbour -Friday afternoon?
