  1. Pretty sure I made those ones for Sam. I hate tramps too, I think its mutual, they dislike me intensly as well.....
  2. Judging by the 2 reefs all day, AJ's balls might still be a little tender!
  3. https://vimeo.com/174001549 Link to the video if it hasnt been posted yet.
  4. Sun Fast 3600 Racing’s SSANZ NZ Spars and Rigging 60 Race Report. With the promise of some decent breeze we were really looking forward to getting out there, this boat just loves a windy day! We got a great start at the boat end, right on the line with the code zero and full main set. This was a great combo and got us out of the blocks really well. We peeled to the mast head spinnaker at home bay as we had worked out that the last ¾ of the run down to Rakino was going to be very flat off. During the peel from the zero to the spinnaker the sheet got caught up forward on the chainplates, n
  5. That was great fun. Anyone wants a run down of the race come down to the sun fast for a rum. F1-11 westhaven.
  6. Really looking forward to it. Nice to beat last years fleet size by 14 boats!
  7. Might work OK for a low mid girth code zero on a bottom up furler but no way for a gennaker furler. The anti torsion cable is the most important part of a top down system, skimping here will cause big issues right when you dont need them!
  8. Nigel, Just enter in the small boat div, you should fit nicely in there. KM, what on earth were you doing trying to enter a Ross 930 in the small boat division! Stay in the shorthaul sports div where all good 930s should be! Entries close tonight so make sure you get it in ASAP.
  9. Matt, I might come up and come for a sail with you guys sometime.
  10. Reminds me of this race in the green death trap. Watch for the 2 little woops is arohnd the 3 min mark where we completely sank the leward float. https://youtu.be/jc2HGfIAAz4
  11. This is my understanding if it through Im sure Smithy will update. On each side of the cockpit there is a Running backstay (aft), mainsheet (middle just in front of the wheel) and genoa/brace winch (front end of cockpit), then 2 on the cabintop each side for the halyards and spinnaker sheets (also used for the jib when sheeted on the cabintop tracks). Remember on boats of this size jib and spinnaker halyards need to be kept on winches.
  12. Yes I believe you are correct, its just for the definition of sail measurements.
  13. Westhaven has 2 of them near the breakwall of the eastern emtetence to. I have hit both of them in different boats. Never my own though.
  14. If the mid girth is under 75% of the foot lengh then it's measured as a headsail. 99% sure it will be measured as a headsail unless it's was built as an IRC sail.
  15. Still a long way out Smithy, most people havent even thought to enter yet.
  16. Ha they were replaced ages ago! Its not the cockpit speakers that makes all the noise its the party stereo.........
  17. There will be a spot prize for the loudest raft up, and the biggest raft up!
  18. Flash your torch at us if you would like more base......
  19. Ha, boat draws 2.1, stereo draws about 20amps.....
  20. Very sad news. The owner Harry is a very experienced sailor and great guy. One of Simon hulls old crew on M1. I believe that Ross McKee was also on board, again he is very experienced. Tragic.
  21. That is plain terfying... Any yacht caught in that wave would be in big trouble.

    Yacht Clubs.

Hi Gurge, if you are weathaven based then it would have to be one of the westhaven clubs. Both the RNZYS and the Richmond yacht club run some really good racing. The RNZYS covers the bigger boats 35-52ft really well and a huge diverse racing calender, they also have a lot of family and crusing events. Richmond does a huge amount of racing as well with big fleets, mostly the slightly smaller boats 30-45ft and also a good social events calender. The best harbour racing is the winter series as everyone strips the cruising gear off the boats and races hard. It's usually fortnightly. There is
