wheels 544
I hope you are not trying to stop a nuclear meltdown in the Kitchen BP What are you actually wanting to do ? It is available in many forms, depending on use. Probably the most common in my world is a welding flux for Copper and heavy soldering. Thus it is available in either a powder form or paste. Keven is correct in that it is also used as insecticide. Doc Sodium Borate is not very toxic and is used as a food preservative E28? (can't remember last number) although there are some countries it is banned in. The most common use is as a Laundry Detergent and Swimming pool pH balancer/water softener

Black Panther 1,767
It is the only thing we have found that totally removes roaches (picked up some stowaways in Fiji). Not sure if Angela mixes it with anything but she sprinkles it around cupboards and lockers and three weeks later no roaches . Three weeks coz that's the gestastion period of a cockroach and you need to kill two generations.
wheels 544
Are right, yes all the Mega 10 type hardware places sell it as Insect killiers. Ant bait, Wasp bait, you name it, it is a powder that kills them all.....in a rather horrible way I might add, but it kills them.
Battgirl 23
Borax which is apparently the same make up is available at Bin Inn
rigger 47
mix it with icing sugar - great roach killer
Zozza 351
Is this stuff poisonous enough that you have to empty out the boat first before you lace it with this Boric / Borax Acid so that you don't get any on your stores / boat equipment and therefore eventually on yourself? erice 732
the boric acid - icing sugar mix is as old as the hills safe to all but bugs with a sweet tooth but don't sprinkle in your eye or eat spoons of it Boric acid is low in toxicity if eaten or if it contacts skin. However, in the form of borax, it can be corrosive to the eye. Borax can also be irritating to the skin. People who have eaten boric acid have had nausea, vomiting, stomach aches, and diarrhea. The big T 45
Will this work on ants. Like many others, I have been invaded by Argentinian ants at Westhaven and have tried all sorts of bombs and brews to no avail.
erice 732
yes
wheels 544
Plus it is slowish acting, thus the Ants carry it back to the nest and the nest is killed, rather than fast acting that just kills anything in the close area of the bait.
