Frickie 9
Went into CRA today to 'spend' my prize. Great service, great products and a really welcome prize. The kite sheets are replaced (before they failed!) and the boat has had a tasty rope birthday.
B00B00 329
For the first time in at least a decade I missed out on competing! About 3 weeks ago Damon and I had 2 boats to choose from, the Sunfast and Motorboat but they both sold the week before the race! So we decided to jump on the committee boat and help out (hinder) on the committee side of things for a change. It was a real push to get this race sorted straight after the round north island and guys like Jon Henry to name one, really have put in a huge effort. A volunteer that has pretty much been full time running yachting events so far this year. Anyway it sure was another epic weekend. The night couldn't have gone any better. Huge thanks to chains ropes and anchors for the support once again. As already mentioned in this thread we are trying to decide the format for the next one. Thinking it might be time for a much longer race but with some shorter courses as well. Feel free to post any comments here. As usual we just want to run a race that people actually want to do.
Piewarmer 4
Would definitely be keen for a longer race next year. 300 - 400 maybe..... something long enough to force you to get into a bit of watch system and rhythm. So long as its still a Cat3 race. Finishing at the Barrier is definitely the way forward. How about something like Little Barrier to port, Poor Knights stbd, Great Barrier stbd, The Aldermen Islands stbd, Channel Island port, Little Barrier stbd, finish in Abercrombe. Thats around 300 miles.
Clipper 375
Whatever the course, finishing at the barrier is awesome. I reckon the year before the RNI should be a qualifier length, the year after a shorter length (like the plan for this year), so maybe a BIG one the year in between. Next year. (Ill sort out a boat and then i can have an opinion...)

Battleship 100
There appears to be an entry in the cruising division now. Amazing I thought that boat was destined to be in the shed for eternity, ready to be discovered by archaeologists in the distant future. Well done that Man.
