Did your boat get covid?

Can't die from Covid if you poison yourself first! -taps forehead-

Anyway, I've had slime and some other stuff grow pretty quickly with the #5, although no hard growth of note. Anything people are finding better success with?

I am on my 3rd year of Ultra 2.

I had an interesting experience in Northland - boat was cleaned by divers in Westhaven.  One hour later I took it to Bay of Islands, it sat for 3 days on a mooring in Russell, by which time it was covered in a thick layer of slime.

Before coming back to Auckland, (2 weeks ago), we wiped the hull and keel with a sponge, (I now know why I pay divers to do this, but that's another story), it's now been sitting in Westhaven for 2 weeks and is pretty much in the same state that we left BoI in....

There's definitely something in the water up there that isn't down here ;-)

My experience with Ultra 2 (x 2 coats) is that works great if you gently wipe the slime off every 6mnths and in the third year it deteriorates  to being useless into fourth.

About to apply for third round. Also, Hobsonville marina is a  Pacific oyster incubator/nursery.

The barnacles arrived in Opua in 2016 according to the yard guys and other local boaties. Certainly an eye opener for transplanted Westhaven people like moi. We discovered them in 2017 when waiting for two weeks in the marina to depart.  There were late cyclones / named storms in the tropics that year.

The slime this year in the BOI is different, you're right. ( above post).

It does just wipe off but it is fast to arrive.

Ability to bend rules is directly proportional to how much clout/money one has. Why would we think NZ was any different?

Wishful thinking?
