First race they won, 2nd race they got blanketed by a couple of OCS boats at the start and then spent the race recovering - not a hell of a lot they could do differently. Maybe you should actually watch it before commenting next time. I do enjoy these events - hopefully they will find some good use for the 45's after the AC is finished. Can we have the refined tactical skill' that is march racing, where the sailors made the race and not the boats and technology. This type of racing is becoming boring and is only appealing to the thrill seeker rather than the intelligent racing/tactical sailors. It is T20 when 12 Metres were a magical 5 day test that was full of twists an turns and great tactical nuances. Link to post Share on other sites

Have they not been sailing their 72s as well, so it can be said they have done very little sailing in the same class. Artemis has done the most but where are they now. Lunna Rossa have both boats in, despite racing ETNZ in their 72 against ETNZ all year long in the gulf. I think they call it sailing skill and able to adapt to all conditions and boat classes. The thing that I have noticed is that the other teams have not been wasting their time making comedy shows or portraying that they are such hot favourites they can rip $21 million sponsors cheques, toss it in the rubbish bin when they could have accepted it, and given it to say - to the blind foundation so every blind person in N.Z. could obtain a seeing dog or save the Maui and Hector endangered dolphins org. Plus give the impression they drink a lot of coffee. I wonder what the sponsors think now. Let the comedians remain comedians and the serious sailors keep on winning. It was good to see that even after being penalised in every race they had today ETNZ could still adapt and use their superior sailing skills to stay in 2nd only 2 tiny points behind a team that said 'we had a very good day on the water'.
