  1. Nov 26 Update, Norsand has been outstanding. The painters have been working on Saturdays to complete the project and make up for time lost to unexpected repairs at the start. I can't say enough positive things about Aaron who is leading the paint job. We hope to have the boat repainted early-mid December and the mast and boom afterwards. Hopefully we can start putting all the hardware back on. Melanie and I have spent the last few weeks passivating the stainless and re-polishing all the 316 SS. We think that if it took two weeks to remove that we can get everything back on in three weeks

  2. Common sense has prevailed. SportNZ and YNZ have announced that no physical distancing limits or mask mandates will apply to people participating in sporting activities such as yacht racing. Auckland clubs have started advertising a busy summer of races, kicking off on December 3rd. https://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/clubs/covid-19-latest-updates

  3. I wonder how the boat painters in Fiji would have handled the unexpected turns?

  4. Well, done. Reinstall tomorrow. The cut in the side panel was V'd with a grinder, 2 x 400oz bi-axial cloth, faired, whole rudder covered with 2x 10oz boat cloth, faired again, 3 coats epoxy barrier coat. Just antifouling to go in this pic. Install will be in water. We'll see how that goes!

  5. Job done, for reference for others whose transducers stop working: looks like most just need new bearings - 10 dollars each from Gofish - good service there. Make sure that you get them unlubricated. Grant at gofish lubricates them as they are used in fishing reels which is great. BUT- the anemometer is slowed down by even a small amount of lube. If you need new rotating cups or wind direction swivel, discount marine has the kits. Thanks again for the help
