Hi - we used Strata Clean on our last boat and they did a really good job. Below is the instructions I got from the Altex paint rep about the preparation after scraping back: If the scraping method of removal is chosen and once all of the old antifouling has been removed it will leave a shiney finish on the grey primer undercoat, this must be removed , and we recommend machine sanding with 80 grit dry paper. This will remove the shine and yield a coarse surface texture for the new paint system to adhere. · Once the sanding is complete, remove all of the sanding dust,

Hi All, This is my first boat with a freezer; a quick google tells me that -18 is the ideal temperature for a freezer - but’s that’s for safely freezing food long term, is that necessary for a week away on the boat? What temperature do others use for their freezers? Cheers

Carpenter 29s are a very boat too. Sail well and are good for cruising. Worth a look.

She was launched in October 2000 - not sure if the hull sat around for a bit - there are pictures of her being built on board so I’ll see if there are dates on them. We’re having fun just getting to suss out all the systems and stuff. Looking forward to going away for Easter. we’re thrilled to finally get out hands on a 1050 - we’ve been chasing after one for a while. Hopefully we’ll see you out and about at some stage.

After selling the Carpenter last January and over a year of looking we finally have our new boat. We sailed Vivaldi up to Gulf Harbour yesterday Great sail and we’re having fun just getting to know all the boat’s systems. how do I post a picture here?

Does anyone know of one that works out at the Eastern Suburbs?

So is the general convention that a 40 foot boat is taken as a 12m? Or do the marines enforce this rigidly. Seems to me that a 40 footer should be able to go on a 12m berth as they are there or thereabouts. It would seem quite wasteful to have to put a 40 footer on a 13.5m berth!

Yes you are right about the comparisons, and some good points too re the repairs. The reason I asked bout the 1220s was there was a few on the market a while ago for a similar price so was weighing that up - but then again the 1050s are in a similar range.My preference is the 1050 but there just aren’t any available, and the wright ticks a lot of boxes in terms of what my wife and I have thought would be nice to have on a cruising boat: Bimini Furling main Freezer Shower.
