    Buying lead

Look on trade me for cheap dive weight belts. I managed to pick one up with 12kg on it for less than $30. Dive shops charge $20/kilo for their lead

    Kaikoura Wharf.

Seconded Also...NZL you are entitled to your opinion thought it obviously differs to others here that is ok too. Frankly we are tired of listing to your opinion so please can we get back to answering Shane's question if we want to or leave it alone if we don't want to offer advice
  3. Hotter plugs will be because of the higher octane or vice versa. I would assume he sugests it because in his experience that engine will run better with that set up. That being said I'm sure someone will be along shortly with actual knowledge
  4. It's very difficult if at all possible to get any sort of effective trim on a sail that's partially furled but I can see the appeal of being able to reduce sail area from the cockpit. Some people here who do a lot of miles single handed might have an alternative system that works better. Furlers are great for getting your sail on or away single handed or when fully crewed but an effective way to reduce sail area and continue to sail they do not make But it will make the boat easier to sail by yourself and are definitely worth the investment, just maybe not it the situation you are
  5. Unpopular alternative...Pay the $65 never think about them again. is it really worth going through the stress all for $65... I understand the princable behind not paying it but at the end of the the day they will always win. Where is the value in wasting your time and getting stressed out. And even if they don't win you have to pay $40 for disputes tribunal so it's only $25 and your pride. But you don't really have any pride, you broke the rules knowing the consaquence. Not keen to get into a internet argument about it all but just thought I would say my bit.
  6. I just saw a post on facebook, Hall spars start rig tuning tomorrow with first sea trials Friday. Looks like the first big one on the agenda is the Sydney Hobart. https://www.bigboatracing.com/news/2016/11/15/cqs-arrives-in-auckland
  7. For context your Sony Z1 has a 2,200 Ma/h battery. Thr GoPros are about 3,000-4,000 Ma/h so theoretically it would still be able to charge the phone/GoPros a few nor times... That is without calculating use while charging etc. it's been a while since I sold them so my stats might not be 100% accurate.
  8. It depends on how much you spend. I thought the general rule was $400 or less and they don't usually bother because it is not economical to collect GST below $60. Although there are some exceptions. This is helpful: http://www.whatsmyduty.org.nz/faq
  9. I can answer the how..There are printers that can print on just about anything they call them wide format, I would look for a graphics company that print anything from posters to billboards, I have seen everything from plastic to chipboard printed on so a table top should be simple. I will ask around and see if I can't find a place that can do it
  10. I could be pretty keen, will send you a PM
  11. Lotus 9.2's are a very nice boat, I've been crewing on one for a few months now in some casual races etc.and While it's not the fastest boat in the fleet (the boat is setup for cruising so it has everything you need for the weekend. All of the crew except for the skipper are quite new to sailing) we have still managed to pick up a couple of thirds and a second, on handicap. It's not often we are not last on line haha. That being said the boat loves sailing on the wind and performs really well all round. As a cruiser it has loads of space with 4 adults away for the weekend not having an
  12. Thanks all, I think the Weber on a bait board is the way to go. It's likely it will be taken inside when the boats not in use. I did have a look around and couldn't find much in the way of mounts, would be interested if anyone else could find some.
  13. I need help on deciding on a BBQ for the in laws boat. It will be a xmas gift. The boat is a Lotus 9.2 we have been racing with the PCC on Fridays lately, if you've seen us it's because we are last on line haha. They are pretty keen on the Magma Kettle style from the likes of burnsco/Sailors corner. This type of thing: http://www.burnsco.co.nz/productdisplay.aspx?categoryid=0&productid=5851&colour= That being said the Webber Baby Q's are about the same price.http://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/outdoor_furniture_bbqs/barbeques_accessories/weber_baby_q_q1000_titanium_239457/ T
