  1. Why on earth would you think that? Things have been going downhill since oracle got hold of it. (Aside from the choice of multis)
  2. What has oil got to do with it? Im not there. so again, not sure what the cost of going in person has to do with it. I went to San Fran, yes, that cost more than $11.98 my dinner last night also cost more than that. But i thought the point of heavily sponsored, fast exciting sailing (at he expense of tradition) was to grow the cup and increase viewership. if the only way to watch it is to pay the fee for the event and hope the ap works for you, thats not gonna happen. the event (4 races) and the app is a joke.
  3. a guy that good is allowed a big ego...
  4. $11.98. I don't think that is reasonable. Anyone got a workaround for tonights racing?
  5. Agreed ed. The fleet racing of 6 foiling, wing sailed cats could be amazing. But it ain't the Americas Cup.
  6. i cant figure it out, its all too hard. but no youtube. some crappy ap AC+ lots of bitching at sailing anarchy. My guess is not many viewers for the events if charging. wonder what the sponsors think?
  7. 6 foiling 45s would be cool to see. pity it costs $8 to view the racing. Screw you russell
  8. Congrats. Bet you are feeling euphoric right now.
  9. too many tacks to have time to look at facebook. see our track below.
  10. sorry, i deleted my question after i googled the answer!
  11. i now have an ST2000. Raymarine. trialed an old ST1000 for a while, it was fine for motoring and holding a course in the super light. the 2000 has faster speed, but not a big deal, as not really sailing hard with an autopilot.
  12. I have a tiller pilot. It's awesome. Have done singlehanded sails to kawau a few times, but not sure id be keen to go too much further. If there is wind, you have a bit on, and in no wind I get bored.... The old owner of twu singlehanded her to the barrier for a Xmas cruise.
  13. Here is my damage, will try and find repairs
  14. I've blown the bottom gudgeon off on of my rudders. I would suggest they they should be bloody strong, not engineered to break before rudder. Mine are anyway. I have a heap of carbon unis tying mine on. Can't remember how many just know it's twice as much as required as I ordered too much by mistake, chucked it all on.
  15. Not really devils advocate. More like uninformed stirring.
  16. We took our 2 month old away for 5 nights at Xmas last year on voom, modified GBE. They sail pretty well with less sail up, not normal race speeds, but quicker than your tracker. Definately not dogs. With baby on board, first reef at 10 knots, don't sail if 2 reefs required...
  17. Sounds exactly like an 8.5. You have seen these pics? http://www.multihull.org.nz/85-class/?Section=Cruise%20your%208.5
  18. I see new courses. They look great, nice to keep mixing it up, thanks SSANZ.
  19. Can't say bounty rum is that flash either.

  21. But who doesn't agree, the less idiots the better?
  22. On the other hand.…... New boats need small crew. 6? One design mostly,so all we need is a foil designer. No panic, but admittedly a bad look.
