She probably does not eat the dinghy - rather, just rips it apart? Without wanting to re-start that discussion re getting rid of the bloody thing, I personally would feel more at ease if I could know where this animal is at any time. Does anybody know if DOC has investigated popping a tracker, rather than a cap, in its ass?

I dont post much because I mostly like to think about what I'm about to say and being of Libran star sign that takes time. Clearly software is set up for a more "shoot from the lip" kind of audience - as many posts demonstrate.

Thanks i thought as much. I have relocated pond pump & filter set up today. Probably shoulda done that to begin with. The 168 fish probably started out as 5 a few years b4 we bought the property but it is a big pond - about 2.5 x 6.0. Its a roundabout thingy in our drive and gotta liddle bridge an all that carry on. Anybody know anything about pond liners? Helpful i mean.. I'm a bit dark on it because the bloody thing didnt leak until we had it cleaned. Pond cleaner chick now unresponsive.

I have a fish pond. Dont ask why but i have. Furthermore it developed a leak and so i had to rehouse 168 goldfish. Part of the rehousing requirement was to oxygenate the water in the bath tub that i repossessed from the 3 sheep (again, don't ask why i have 3. Or any, for that matter). So - i bought a little 240vairpump from the fish shop (picture of its guts is attached). It bloody fell into the water and no longer works. Is it retrievable or junk?

I often get part way thru a post and become distracted, and when i have spare time go looking so i can complete it. Have never been able to find them. Is there an auto save function and if so where do the 'draft' posts go.

IT i just posted, it ended up in page 1 and entirely out of context to posts surrounding it so I deleted. Maybe just as well but could be a glitch 4 u to investigate

Dont hold your breath and go green. I've realised i have boating nz not seaspray so maybe a nil result but i seem to have time to spare atm so should be fun wading thru the boxes

give us a date BP - I recently assumed stewardship of a bunch of boatin mags. Like - a boot full. If I find anything will let u know.

don't get your y fronts in a twist lateral . I was off topic I know but i thought it was funny. Likening my poorly timed sense of humour to promoting misogynistic attitudes is slightly OTT in my view, but that's only my opinion. Chill out dude.

slightly related I guess, but seems to be applicable across the board. fill in the missing bit.... "....when I sat there one day and I thought; 'what I'm listening to is a whole bunch of chick scientists' - and if you really looked at the view that they were pitching - [it] was everybody in New Zealand should not shave their armpits, they should wear dreadlocks, and when they go ________ing they should do it in jandals only. And after they catch one patty for tea they should sit down hold hands and sing kumbaya. That was the feeling I got."

I dont name and shame, and I'm not starting now, but if anybody else reading this lives in this neck of the woods -Everson Contracting aren't stupid about it. I texted Simon, he responded with uncertainty about the exact date, but also indicated "about a week wait, maybe". There is quite a few holes in that onion bag but at least his reply is positive. I can and probably will offer to wait longer because there are plenty out there worse off than me, but I'm stoked to have a positive reply. Not taking bookings because you're 'busy as' is just dumb and does nothing to help, so I know where

Helensville, Fish. Hard to create a relationship when they will not book because it forces u into thinking about throwing the panic mode switch. I have somewhere around 15000 L which ain't bad compared to some people ive been told of, but i know it gets less every day and naturally - eventually will be zero. Hence my focus on understanding my usage. If i focus hard on stretching what I have got, I'll be sweet but it is a concern for obvious reasons. Yesterday we used 150L between 3 adults, 1 toddler and dogs n cats - so thats pretty good.
-
Thanks all. So i shouldnt double the 'drop'. 480 L per day isn't as frightening but now all i gotta do is convince the fairer sex members of the house that we do need to save... I can't even make an arrangement for a load. Seems like most water truck operators believe that the best way to manage extreme demand is to stop taking bookings - as if ignoring it makes the need magicly go away. I get they are busy, i get they can only do so many loads a day and all the rest, but, the closing of bookings I can't fathom. I'd be over the moon if my forward bookings were under pressure-its called c

Thanks. So do u see any error with my end result - esp the usage calc?

I'm sure I 'll be told off by someone but its important (to me at least) and does relate to the forum sort of.. Like many in greater Auckland and beyond, I have a water issue at home (i.e I'm on tank water and supply is difficult). I am trying to confirm my math with regard to a) capacity of my 2 tanks which are connected - at the bottom (and so in my mind 1 body of water for the purpose of this exercise) and Usage. Capacity; I believe that to work out the amount of water I do the following; 3.14 (pii) x radius ® x radius ® = this result is the square metre measurement of the ta

I wonder if they come with armour plated pontoons.

Inflatable Dinghies - the good, the bad and the ugly?
Romany replied to Sail Rock's topic in MarineTalk
thanks for that Lateral. I have had exp. with isocyanate cross linkers b4 - nasty stuff. Made nonsense of carbon activated face masks in very short amount of time, and makes people sh*t faced unless they take serious protective steps.. However - excellent heat and water resistance, so kind of makes sense. What did you clean the surface down with to begin? -

I remember being in North Cove in a frisky westerly around the lodge area and she came charging in under full sail, the helm was put to starboard, she rounded up, sails and the pick were dropped in what seemed like one act and the crew disappeared. Well impressed I was and that black hull seemed more fitting than her current look. Hopefully someone will fall under her spell.

I blame Sir Stephen. He started it. Low cost crap is defined by its last line.

FWIW I used to be a member there yonks ago and it was not OK to leave a yacht on the hard for summer back then (i'm talking at least 15 years ago), so if that's what u meant by 'thinning' I'd say there's not much to it.
