  1. They should chuck a lap of an adjacent island in - sort of like the joker thing on rally cross on tele on Sundays. Or make them send on crew member ashore to have a pie and 2 pints, sprint back down the beach, restart.. Bring back the fun.
  2. Surely this is click bait journalism? Either that or a mistimed April Fools joke? Either way, who really cares? I will admit I'm surprised to see LSD as the source. I thought they were better than that
  3. I believe their point is lets get on, light winds or heavy, we're here to race, and we have a good momentum (4/0 proves that). Tough sh*t i know but every minute they are delayed is another minute that Ineos have to find the hat and the rabbit and I don't think that's particularly fair. although you could imagine LR are not sitting around twiddling their thumbs..
  4. i reckon that is fair enuff from Luna Rossa. Get on with it.
  5. what happened to the guys that made these? in East Tamaki,
  6. I am thinking of buying a generator to power electrical tools such as a Rupes BR109AES 550W sander and a 1500w wet/dry vac such as a Nilfisk AERO 26-2L PC for use at remote sites. I don't want one the size of a small car or even its engine, and I am struggling to find anybody who can tell me if something like a 3.5kva pure sine wave generator such as this will give me the grunt I need. https://www.smartmarine.co.nz/product/19606/dy3500i-digital-inverter-petrol-generator-35kva-83-amp-dc Try as I do to find the peak load of the sander I cannot - even Wyatts seem not to be able to ans

    Boat rage

My bad...from the same article... Whangamatā police charged a 52-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon with common assault in connection to the incident. She will appear in Thames District Court on February 18. Rant over.

    Boat rage

I think you'd find the law says no you're not. I guess its all a matter of degrees. If you are threatening me with deadly force and its a matter of survival due to the gravity of the threat - I must have the right to snot you first, but only enuff to make u desist or enable my rapid escape. If she had hit him & killed him (which is feasible - a mathematical genius may be able to predict the tip speed for us i spose:) she'd be up on a murder or man slaughter charge. And rightly so - imho.

    Boat rage

Fish I get your point and I would not dispute the guy acted in a dangerous manner, but her response is no less reprehensible. I am sure that his actions constitute 'assault' but honestly cannot believe her response did not. Given the choice, which of the two weapons on display would you have rather been on the end of? They both did something wrong and from that perspective alone surely applying the law evenly would be all I think is to be expected. Just to be clear - only imho. None of the participants are known to me.

    Boat rage

Thats piss poor really. Either they should both be penalised or neither of them. I could understand if the lady had to stop the guy boarding her boat and chose an oar to defend herself, but that she jumped off her boat and went after him, swinging and missing (? Maybe she did get him i dont know) is no less premeditated. The sad fact is that both of them, by their uncontrolled rage, have risked much. My belief is the cops should give them both a bloody good telling off & make them do community service of some nature, together, and be done with it.
  13. Spoken like a true cruiser. Please expand? Is there dinghy /dock etiquette?

I'm sure even the old guy polishing the boat each night could tie me in knots in the start box, but tbh American magic looked all at sea on more than one occasion. That is not a criticism of the guy on the wheel, but they just didn't seem to have 'it' when the time came. S hits me as it does but I reckon that yappin aussie dog would be saying "too easy" as they sailed away...

Thanks Vivaldi - it sort of makes sense that they would allow it. If u have enough gas in the tank to be close enough to draw a penalty then fair digs give it a go. Still - impressive nerves of steel from Ineos, LRs bluff just didnt faze them.

I thought that LRs subtle course change to leeward verged on 'hunting' but anyway ultimately too little too late and I'd guess RO saw thru that little pantomime. They bore away to make the sudden 'avoidance' look necessary. It is kind of interesting though. At 40plus knots a collision is carastrophic, perhaps fatal - and so maybe they need to have zone protection similar to mark rounding. Perhaps they do? Anybody with rules knowledge?
  19. Respect for what he has done but me thinks he might have lost his marbles a bit there.
