Little Shoal Bay boatyard

Car hoists and boat haulouts is a not a good analogy because boat haulouts are much more limited. I like the direction of your thoughts but to take it s few steps further we could ban all privately owned goods on public land. That would mean a new type of society.

Land value in Auckland makes private haulout facilities very expensive, traditionally public land was made available for haulouts with clubs usually running them. You know kind of like sports grounds who use publicly owned land for their private activities.  Can anyone join the club is the same as saying can anyone haul their boat?

My objection to the removal is that its part of the character and tradition of the area- over 100 years of hauling boats, but that's not so important, what alternative can the council provide given their pogrom against blue collar boat ownership.
