put some foam down center case on 3.7 to stop centre board cutting the hull open.

whats your sail no? where are you based..

3.7 179 Blood Vessel. in rotorua the foam is actually a jandle jut up that when the center board is raked(?) back it doesn't cut the hull open.

Did the first ever rum race on the SR26 'Motorboat'.

Put the boat on the grid at stillwater and changed the prop then sailed the boat down on sunday to its new home in westhaven.

Full marks to Bri-ski props for modifying my spare folding prop for me in a day and for very cheap! Got the pitch and diameter reduced and now its PERFECT.

i put some foam type stuff down there, soon see how it works, without it it was just putting small dents in the trailing edge of the boat, and also in the bottom and top of the case...

are you going to the sprints down there on the 15/16th?

also, are you selling that enclosed road trailer? if so i will pm you...

So far - shifted and stacked 800kg of shackles, 1200kg of wire, 150kg of marina fendering. Made 30 large security chains up so a Uni can chain it's new computers to the desks :? Leathered up 3 more lines for Alloys new 43mt boat. Watched Wheels playing with his new 7kwa genset. Watched D1 trying to scam the Digginator into doing what she was supposed to be doing, he nearly fell for it.

2 Steak n Cheese, 4 large capos.

Went past a Cop at 130kph on me motorsickle. Luckily he was busy with someone else or that may have been costly.

Oh and been getting updates from one of our lads whose Wa has decided a week overdue is enough so went into labour at 5am.

And it's only 2pm.

went out on a newly acquired 88 to do the owners nationals. first time we have raced the boat so we put an L plate on the back. surprised ourselves by not coming last in race 2,3,4,5 and 6

thing we learned.

-sails are f**ked for lack of a better word

-bow is too heavy with the anchor winch on it

-we dont know how to make them point

-our kite looks bloody small from on the boat when looking at others

-foredeck crew is awesome compared to some others

I will take your word re the sails. But that may not help with pointing. However, what angle you getting???

think its just time on the boat and a bit of rig tune.... not quite able to make the same angles as the others. higher than we make the 727 go atleast.

seeing others out there with spanners adjusting the rig between races kinda makes us think we really don't know anything about these boats.

at the finish we are amongst a bunch of them, not like we are 5 minutes out the back door.

For starters just play with the forestay. Get a base setting for about 10-12 kts and go 5 turns on for big breeze and 5 turns of for very light, and adjust as nessisary for the in between breeze.

You cant adjust while racing but do it between races. Allways know where you are with it, normally you just talk about it as '+1' as one turn on and so on and keep talking about it and where you are at all day. You need to go back to base at the end of the day. Have a small bit of batten with marks on it to line up if you loose where you are.

This will make a massive difference to your pointing and genoa shape.
