Heather was an integral part of putting NZ ocean racing capability on the world map and in her time was NZ's no 1 offshore navigator

And here is the other side of the ledger. Derlict boats taking up space, posing a risk to the environment. But our environmental laws prevent efficient disposal of those boats at sea. To haul out on a travel lift, you need 3rd party insurance, yes? If you boat is derilict, can you get insurance? It is all well and good say coulda shoulda woulda, but there is a problem with derelict boats, and no easy way to deal with them. My view is that if the boats are cleaned of contaminants, diesel, oil etc, and striped out of removable items, then it is the least environmental damage to scuttle

I actually like the mixup of boats. Gives more opportunity to make gains (or minimize losses). Fleet management is quite a skill.

It's a great boat and in pretty good condition. Was no expense spared when it was launched and it was campaigned very well. I know there is nothing major wrong with it but its basically padlocked to the hard stand until the bills are cleared. I dont think its very fair to be asking for the owner's situation and reason for sale right now on trade me. Maybe it's a touchy subject.
