  1. This is the story of our purchase and ownership of Stepping Out. It may take some time, will have twists and turns, could move beyond a PG rating from time to time, and will no doubt have real sailors and hardened people of the sea laughing at the incompetence and naivety of beginners. The story is only a year and a bit old at this stage. Who knows how long it will run for. Time will tell.   4. The First Viewing, including a short treatise on how to Read Between the Broker's Lines Brokers are interesting folk. I once heard it said not necessarily in jest that if someone tells you they are a Real Estate Agent its probably just a face-saving way to tell you they are unemployed. Brokers seem to be similar.   5. Yep, turps on Quilosa, while wet. Sorry, should have been clearer! Once it's dry, it must be mechanically removed... And no primer, no special prep. Just clean, dry surface on the boat, and the window, and away you go..

  6. I do suggest the use or turps for cleanup. I have noticed any acrylic that has been wipped with Thinners seems to craze much earlier than acrylics that have not. Maybe it is coincidence, but I have always wondered if thinners may remove something from the Acrylic surface that causes UV to break it down faster. The issue of using the sticky tape stuff is the UV attacking the Adhesive over a long time and likely causing the tape to release eventually. The Sika products use a paint on stuff that is actually about stopping the UV from attacking the Sealant, not just better adhesion to the acr

  7. Since last installment... 19yrs worth of antifoul finally scraped off during the week, factory non-taped keel join sorted and 10 hrs of hands above head orbital sanding with 120g disc's completed today 😅 Now to find some 1000g disc's for the D.A and have a crack at the stripes 😔
