  1. I have since sold the boat so am working on memory. I take it that you have a shaft drive. I told the Volvo agent that did the install that I would not accept the amount of vibration so they changed the mounts from the factory soft mounts to the mounts used on the 50hp. I suspect the mounts used were for a sail drive application but were not appropriate for a shaft drive.

  2. Yes. Also, the coolant tank is not and has not been an issue on any of the boat fitted with a D series that I've worked on. MDI boxes are another story. Here is an iteresting link about them https://nordkyndesign.com/engine-reliability-a-look-at-the-volvo-penta-mdi-black-box/

  3. This Sunday: I cleaned bottoms from some green algae on Saturday using my secondary method. The ease of cleaning has not changed over time. The bottoms are clean save for a two small patches I missed. The paint look 100% intact and the mildly hydrophobic behavior is restored after each cleaning. I would guess it would work for at least another season as is. I will, however apply a fresh layer of paint hoping I will achieve a smoother finish this time. /Martin

  5. Banana's are already being grown commercially (farmers market) in Northland and the small ones have been around for much longer than I've lived up here. I get at least 1 bunch of the small ones every year.
