So are/were the nuts captive in the bog ?

I did a window replacement about a month ago . I was very surprised at how flexible the area around the window cut out was with the window removed . I am taking a guess that the scraping force applied by the worker over 3 days to remove the incorrect sealant flexed the laminate enough to crack the bog/filler on the inside of the window surround ?

The navy base would make an awesome marine hub …or residential hub . I bet my third nut some shyster has an eye on it

Bloody legend …every boat he sells he’s giving up sailing to take up , hang gliding , motorcycling , bigger boat , smaller boat etc etc
-
Good value compared to fuel
-
Yeah a 7m version and there’s a keeler coming too but a different beast altogether
-
I’m eagerly awaiting the launch of a husband/wife Dibley 40 build . Saw some pics on FB lately and it looks bloody mint .

Looks very similar to a Beale 780 at our club but bigger obviously . will the name be “hula girl “ by any chance !

The Route 66 is fast approaching (4th march) and it is definitely going ahead but no prizegiving on Saturday morning I’ve heard . Entry numbers have jumped up the last few days so it’s looking like a good one this year This is a great race and always has a strong fleet of grassroots racers . It’s easy on the wallet being Cat4+ and the Marsden cove marina is free , plus you get given a bottle of Mt gay on arrival to get the dockside bullshit flowing . just a wee plug for Marsden cove marina . It’s an excellent modern facility and the retail area is right there with a cafe and bar a

Happy to take any spare tylaskas you may have ! 🤑
-
Use them on the gennaker sheets which also double the code zero sheets , makes for a quick changeover from Gen to zero etc. also use on the jib sheets much kinder to the mast and deck than an SS shackle

What’s the currents dog status at whiti marina ? Had a creworgers yapper jump ship while they were quaffing man o war by the box in opua marina . We were having dinner and it raced down the dock and dropped a nugget right at our transom . I found it funny but a few others were gagging on their food . Mum eventually retrieved the dog and smeared the nugget across the concrete trying to pick it up ….god I miss bayweek !

Looking forward to this and really hope it can go ahead

I’ve got a Uniden budget yellow job that does all of the above , I think ? critereia is it meets Cat3 and we use it for listening to race comms during starts . Range is woeful though we couldn’t raise a boat in a recent race that was only 5 miles away on 5W setting …wouldn’t recommend it in an emergency situation unless it’s for close range .

Still it makes me wonder what NZs back up comms are with the outside world are if any ? SSB is a wonderful if archaic way of communicating long distance …and an aerial is much easier to repair than and undersea cable .
-
Slightly off topic but I’m a bit perplexed at the loss of comms with Tonga. Sure the under sea cable is broke but surely they have SSB back up comms in the military and sat Phones ?

Kind of makes sense in respect to teenage drivers …have you ever had success telling a teenager to stop doing something
-
sh*t that’s unbelievable and believable . What are the discharge regs in the sounds ? You should post the picture here too

Yeah it’s the sea state that might get scary . These types of close to shore generated swells can have a very short but intense peak height period of just few hours . The prediction for this one is 6-7 metres E-SE which would stand up beautifully/horribly in the Colville channel in an outgoing tide and probably a metre or two higher than forecast
-
That chart shows the topography perfectly . The outside half of the point is a bigger but softer wave and the inside bit in by the shore is smaller but a steeper fun wave . We used to launch the boat at torpedo bay because the exposed ramps are out of the question when that place is breaking . there are a few quality breaks on the mahurangi islands and mainland too , Scotts landing is the best place to launch from . A JetSki would make island surfing very accessible

Used to surf motutapu in the 90s . The very long reef with a wee island on the end between administration bay and the boulder bay that is between rangi and motutap . Very long right handers and will be pretty darn good on Sunday and Monday with some south in the wind
