  1. Rule 3.1 monohulls over 10m, 2012 rules for Round NZ race.
  2. But if Knot me is to do the RNZ he'll have to extend his boat to meet the 10m rule won't he?
  3. My favourite is Mikalor froom general marine westhaven. Havent had one disintergrate on me yet.
  4. Auckland engineering supplies. As John said Manecraft
  5. Nope, and the yamy was heavy as. Had to replace a spring once. Easy as to get parts.
  6. I had a yamaha 9.9 4 stroke extra long on a tenob with extra springs and it was great on my Tracker. When I replaced the yamy with a 6hp 4 stroke merc, I had to remove the extra springs.
  7. Sailed down there last weekend, loverly blue ocean and real cool to take a picture of the famous island as I sailed past. Not as much sea life as I would have expected. A lot of Selp (not sure if this is correct name, jellyfish like things!!).
  8. Lewmar standard pawl (up to 50st winch or so usually) 16.4mm long, 12.5mm wide, 7.8mm deep (the fat round bit) Lewmar large pawl (over 50st) 16.6mm long, 12.5mm wide, 9.2mm deep Dimensions taken with plastic calipers, usually sell for round the $5 mark each Hope that helps
  9. On sky pop up channel now. The crowds are amazing and Hugo Boss just looks freakish!
  10. Racing Chinese rig on the Whangarei Harbour NZ last Sunday courtesy of Whangarei Cruising Clubs facebook page.
  11. Today I raced against a chinese rigged ketch. Absolutely fascinated by it's performance. I hope some pictures turn up of her on the Whangarei cruising club facebook site so I can post them here. Today I also had my first taste of 30 odd knots in Summer Wine of Cowes and discovered 1 reef was not enough and after 3 years racing with the keeler fleet I can still go aground.....twice! Look forward to refitting the wind selfsteering as the TP22 does not cope. Lots of learning to do prior solo trans tasman but thats why I go out on such days as today.
  12. Agree with GregW. Tenob bracket way to go. Double spring it for a 4stroke 9.9. Had a 15hp 2 stroke on an S&S 24 way overkill could do 9knots easy and just about wakeboard on the wake! Had a 6hp 4stoke on the Tracker, just enough but no go against 30-40 knot headwinds whereas the old 9.9 4 stroke yamy chewed it up until it decided to have reluability problems????. My humble opinion 6hp for a variant with a xl shaft.
  13. Nah, just the implimentation? date of the last alteration to regs I think.
  14. This product here is Altex number 10, different colour but the same. https://altexcoatings.co.nz/frontend/products.cfm?page=product&productid=22&marketid=0 My understanding is that it does not meet the new regs that come into force soon (next year?) and they are running the stock down slowly instead of dumping it.
  15. Is 30 hours too short a time for this race? Or are people too busy in their lives to cope with a slow race? Looking at the entries, it is not as if it is a slow fleet. No old productipn boats like Maurauders, Davidson 28's, Raven 31's let alone Raven 26's and Harmonics! Do these boats no longer get cat 3 or everyone expects the race to be done and dusted in 10 hours so don't bother entering?
  16. Adhesive tech do a pigment paste. Just ring then to see who buys it off then. Norski also do pigments in a variety of colours. Quite often carried in craft shops and the like.
  17. Will do! We'll start a new thread and get some pictures up soon
  18. Sold. Thanks for viewing. The next adventure now begins.
  19. Auction is on and reserve has been met. One hour to go if you want an excellent value Alan Wright Tracker
  20. Yes, that's exactly what we'll look at getting closer to the time. Wife likes me to text often when away on boat without her! Thanks for the link and thanks so much for all the pics you sent there were more than we had discovered cheers for that
  21. You are not wrong Jon, an absolute screaming bargain. I've moved on to ...... An English Sailwind 27. She came out here on her own keel a few years back and had been sitting neglected on a mooring for 2-3 years. She is to be my Corinthian entry in the next Solo Trans Tasman race.
  22. Hi there, will have Tramper on the dock at Whangarei Cruising Club tomorrow (Sat 23/01/16) for anyone to look at. I'll be there 10-12 then I'm off sanding new one.
  23. Tramper the Tracker is for sale on trademe. Have purchased another so she must go (to be fair wife wants to do another SSANZ series in her, but new boat needs money!) Anyway mention crew.org when you purchase her and I'll give you some FREE extras!!!!! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1019916589
