Webasto. Great little heater, simple and reliable. I have had Ebespacher and had to get someone in to re-set it as if it fails to start 5 times in a row it goes into lockdown mode - I replaced the fuel filter and didn't bleed it properly.

New rules... must admit I thought the ebox was the way to go for small boats as they are very safe. Mine is a Jackson one that they use on building sites ... unattended building sites too ... not sure how that works if our rules are the same as theirs.

I called up Beacon (they were very helpful) and to get an ewof for Deeds I need to have the boat out of the water to fit an through hull (both hulls?!) earthing strap, fit a 240v plug, shore power plug and fitted ebox thingy.. As I am on the boat a lot I'll just leave the shore power lead ready to plug in when I am down there.

Yep, I just confirmed with them that I am not allowed to use my expensive ebox anymore.... well I can use it if I am on the boat but I can't leave it.

I am planning on jumping in the water if I get stopped! Question is are you allowed to swim alongside a dinghy without life jackets in it? Are you allowed to then get back into the dinghy? The HM was checking at Kawau last weekend. ...

Thought I would do the solo series this year after seeing all the guys out last year. Looked really wall organised, website, distinctive shirts, BBQs etc ... Now I can't even seem to find what is happening for the race this Sunday. Am I looking in the wrong place? Have I been left off a mailing list? Anyone got any info?

Interesting article here at PBO. With SSANZ and Solo races insisting on wearing a tether I think that I would rater take my chances in the water (inshore racing) than being dragged behind the boat under the water. http://www.pbo.co.uk/seamanship/is-it-safe-to-use-a-tether-25125 Thoughts? Make it short is one option
