Interesting! When will she hit the water? Sam tried a double luff sail on Stealth when she first hit the water.

While I support them in the front line I actively campaign against their Vision (Everybody safe on the water) and political meddling. Picture that Vision, no boat allowed to sail faster that 5 knots, start lines to be a mile wide and no one is allowed to come within 20 mtrs of another boat!

Na ... it's a light Sabre!

Well stated Wheels.

I am a member but a disgruntled one who thought of not renewing but I do support what they do. As stated their Vision is: "Everybody safe on the water. .." It's an impossible vision as some people like the riskier side of water sports. Me included! I don't like they way they are becoming politicised and that they sit on advisory boards and help steer policy to suit their Vision. The reason we have to wear a life jacket in the Coromandel when rowing ashore from a boat or to boat is because they advised that it should be policy. I took it up with CG at the time - 2013,

A good sewing machine is a handy tool when you have tramps!

Excellent, glad AJ's balls are back in one piece!

The RNLI are pretty ballsy, good to see them in action. I thought they gave it a good go.

Always a great moment when a new sail gets flown. Enjoy!

Ah ... the IYC Commodore's boat too! There are a few well known wrecks around the Needles.

Is there a SSANZ Google calendar that we can subscribe to?

You're on! How wide can we get it!!

After struggling with pushing Deeds along in strong winds I changed to the smaller of the 2 High Thrust props available for the 8hp Yam. I can now motor in 30 knots which is really nice.

Didn't BoBo find the boon on barrier somewhere?

I think Tim hit the nail on the head with the old Ford Sierra analogy. The designs are now just outdated and the new plastic fantastics are built like crap and will probably fall apart in 10 years but the designs are A1.

that's the story I heard.

Put all your cruising gear back on ... that'll get the height down a meter or 2!

I like your thinking! I'm in.

Flynn, don’t let them put you off. Port Fitzroy is great for the local shop and the pub in the evening. It’ll be very quiet at this time of year. I would say the anchorage is of medium difficulty. Don’t just throw it over the side and hope for the best! If you don’t want that then head for one of the many beautiful bays.
-
You're kidding right? The holding by the warf at port fitzroy is bad, and there is not much room with all the boat traffic. Your better to go to Wairahi bay or Smokehouse bay. No I'm not. It's deepish but apart from that it's fine. Never had any trouble. All the boat traffic? You been there at this time of the year!
-
Just drop your anchor opposite the wharf at Ftzroy. There is plenty of room and it's good holding.

I was thinking the same! would make a great looking cat if you got rid of the extra weight in the middle...
