  1. Get them out there. Our 2 month old was sleeping on the deck of Voom under the tent next to us. This Christmas will be more of a challenge now she is mobile.
  2. what a sensible comment ed. I thought we were just taking turns to say dumb sh*t....
  3. Pity it isn't being raced one design, even better....
  4. For the small boats, it is a huge effort, as you have a long trip up, and then a long trip back, i spent a lot of time and effort and dollars to get my boat ready to race (8.5 cat). I/we made the decision not to start for a long list of reasons - headwinds for majority of race ain't fun, 25+ for 35nm north of tuts also not fun, no time to fix any damage if it occurred (which would prevent other racing) and of course the trip home looked hard work. It is supposed to be fun, and for me, that situation did not look fun. The organizers did a great job, i was at prizegiving, and wa
  5. is is possible to enter individual races, or does one have to enter the whole series? i could not make the first weekend, but seeing taboo is out playing, i would be keen to do as many of the other races as i can manage. I am keen to sail this sunday, but can't figure out if i am allowed and if so, how to enter. Ken (Voom, 8.5m cat)

What is wrong with the currently available pencils?
  8. Are those charlseton boys legends or what? Third boat in, behind an orma 60 and a Volvo 70, in a 28' non foiling cat. Awesome

  10. I'm sure this has been asked, but can OpenCPN run on tablets?
  11. all the previous fans have been turned off
  12. Hahahahaha There was no wind! No racing on day 1 of a 2 day regatta. Going well Russell, going well.
  13. which tack was best ed? we were noticeably better on starboard last night than port. I have 2 mismatched centerboards and wonder if it is that, or possibly shrouds of different lengths. but as i read the above, i wonder about mast rotation too! mine is restricted by different purchases on each tack, so that could also be it.
  14. We lost a carbon pole off Elysium a few years back, tried about 5 times to retrieve, until we watched it sink. I don't have high hopes for your pole sorry.
  15. yup, me too. might even tie the dinghy on this time....
  16. Classic. I just met him this morning at the boatyard, and we talked a lot about taboo. Might have to look at the dates, can't do the first weekend unfortunately.
  17. More multis? Do you have any? I like single handed sailing, can't commit to the series, but have thought about doing some races.
  18. KM, you make me feel bad for emailing you for quotes on halyards and sheets now! To be fair, I've not bought cordage from anyone else for a long time though.
  19. i asked bill to do some for me a couple of years ago, he passed me on to a mate who did a good job, although needed some pushing re timing. Cant recall the name, but he was based up the top of tristram ave. I would think sourcing and cutting the foam yourself would be a great help. Good foam is bloody expensive.
  20. Boat is in water, wil take pics early next week. 7mm will be heaps.

    SSANZ 100

Thanks for that. Got another text too. Must have knocked them on Sunday when drying sails. We're definitely off on Saturday night. Away at the moment, hopefully they will be turned off on Saturday, le me know I still on Sunday! Doubt battery will last..... When we flipped voom last year, Adrian bought us pies too. Just awesome. And Sam bought beer, also appreciated. Voom had a mixed SSANZ race, some exciting moments, and one snapped board that cost us 15mins. Might write more when not just on phone.
