Guest Brucey
I heard that the no one is will allow proas to enter for the bigger races. A good reason why, or... I am sure that for a well publisized pissing competition with multiple bottles of rum on the outcome, it could be arranged. And there would be plenty of spectators too. Or isnt there a race on 22nd December which would suffice? Man or mouse??
Guest
Rob's boat won't be here by Xmas - hopefully around end of Feb, otherwise yes he could race in our rum race. I was referring to the NZMHYC refusing an entry which I found a bit disappointing.
Guest
The noise of the duelling banjos coming out of this thread is getting a bit loud. Can you keep it down a bit please, it's disturbing my porn viewing. Thank you.

Regardless of any clubs accepting entries or not, I would hope that, after all the spouting off here, if Rob shows up with his boat and challenges anyone in Auckland to race him on a triangular course at a certain time and date. There would be a few people who would be honor bound to back-up their statements and take him on?? Takers?

Guest
Sure it's not upside down? It's like one of those pictures where you don't know whether it is an old lady or a young girl. On first look I saw a "conventional" hull upside down with a bit of a chine, second look a "modern" ama with a reverse bow right way up.

Yes Dean I will be keen, I haven't forgotten my challenge to Rob (or any Proa owner/designer for that matter). Its just been so long since I offered the challenge (and still no proa) that the boat I had is sold and the new boat is being built, but hopefully the owners of Capricorn would let me come out with them for a little race with the Proa? Unfortunately theres still no Proa thats actually racing? And Dave stop going on about the NZMYC banning the tacking proa (with no CAT 3) back in the 80's its time to move on! Guest
Sorry, I split this topic to keep the building thread "clean, anyone interested in the Rob vs Tim debate I'm sure will find it. Samin, I meant to move your post also , but missed it, please go to the new thread to see my response re being banned from racing.
