Black Panther 1,688
Close. 35 14.47, 174 13.09. We officially finished gainful employment may 17th. The stated goal was to make our way north trying to find places we hadn't anchored before. With that attitude it has taken two and a half months to get to the Russell boating club. Probably won't win the CC like that but it has been fun. Now arguing about what to do next while looking for an ice cream shop.

Cantab 341
Climb up the hill behind you, driveways on the development help. The view is one of the most stunning I've come across in the Bay.
Black Panther 1,688
Have to be next time, we finally had to hit a store as we were out of everything. Plus the weather has got wetter and windier ( but for all you Auckland people i am sitting in the cockpit in shorts and t shirt.)
Black Panther 1,688
Also as an afterthought having read some fish recipes in another thread. We had fresh seafood 14 nights in the first month. Actually stopped fishing for while to have break. Now looking for some local knowledge for fish up here?
John B 108
Savusavu stock up day. Fantastic sail from macogai yesterday, 40 miles ...5 hours dead, which is nice for an old 'fast cruiser'. Did the 200 plus litre Jerry can duckwalk, a few cases of fiji gold , drugs for the sevusevu and a bit of market and supermarket stuff. Overcast and muggy, it's not the old savusavu. Half the moorings gone so they can build the mega marina housing development on the island.

Cantab 341
Mast out of boat, standing rigging at NSR for replacements. Mast and boom fittings stripped, cleaned and repaired. Chainplate out for inspection, primer on ready for touchup paint.
DrWatson 382
Fitted a pressure buffer tank and a carbon filter. Sealed the tiny gaps in the galley bench. Fixed a leaking watermaker. Attached the carvings and markings plaque, bought a crew set of inflatable life jackets and harnesses, and took a newbie on a 5 day cruise: now hooked . Went for a cruise in Brittany. Found a nice little bay sheltered from all weather except the prevailing, lol. Scored a permanent marina berth in Brest: 12-15 month waiting list ... took us 7 weeks... not sure how that happened but happy to hand over the €2350. Slightly more than a weekend’s achievement but close enough. Photos to come ...

Black Panther 1,688
Looking foward to the ohotos. How are you planning to use it? The original varnish is 20 yrs old so if i get the same performance I'll be over 80 when it needs to be done again.
