Jon 391
What’s the mechanism Dr that locks it / lifts it
DrWatson 382
It’s just hydraulic pressure that holds it down. No locking pin or nothin. Over pressure relief valve let’s it swing back if you hit something (hopefully). Just hit the button to bring it back down... Edit: can’t seem to add photo links from iPhone. Just google pogo swing keel - heaps of pics.

Jon 391
Nice concept Dr but I can’t help thinking the fixed keel looks nice, however it will open up lots of options for cruising https://images.app.goo.gl/L2v2yyhLTfoofSy79

muzled 140
Awesome! Wish i had my boat when the girls were little. Singlehanded with the kids. Your missus must have faith! Another adventure to remember. I Did many missions to Mt Ruapehu , just me & the girls. Epic times. I propped my eyelids open driving back while they slept. Thanks lateral, yes it was a cool thing to do. The original plan was to send 'wifey' home from Tryphena and come back from the barrier so she was probably relieved I only had to come across from Coro... She'd never let me take the kids down the mountain solo though, she's far too keen a skier to miss out on that. I’ve never seen anyone eat noodles by hand before... I’m impressed! ha, it's left over fresh pasta all stuck together, fingers seemed like the obvious choice, esp when I'm the one doing the dishes!
Island Time 1,284
Today finished making a new Bimini. Complete with 240w semi flex solar panels, wiring now inside the Bimini tubes, athwart ship battens to help support the panels, and removable clears on three sides, and led overhead cockpit lighting. Should (does so far) stop the rain dripping through. The old one was knackered. This is the first Bimini I’ve made - came out ok considering
