  5. if you want info about any 1020 pm me and I will tell you what I know. Having being down the Y99, Y11 and then getting a 1020 (now Chairman of the association) don't think you would regret the 1020 especially with re resurgence of owners in the last few year both social events and racing

  7. I have a 1020 alloy pole in the garage. 3.91m with internal trip lines and forespar self tripping ends. One end needs a bit of lube every other month but was used on a weekly basis until I convinced the wife I needed a carbon one. Was been kepp as a spare in case I undercooked the carbon but if your keen send me a pm and I will get the OD and ID
  8. Opened up the instrument panels today to replace a broken vhf and the aerial looks like black tv cable? Given it was running into a splitter and then had short cable with a normal vhf fitting on the end all held together with duct tape I have decided I should probably do a better job. So the question is any problem with using is cable? all my previous boats had the normal white cable with prefitted end. And if okay any idea where to get a new filling as I broke the one I have and cannot find a similar fitting
  9. got your email so will fick through contact details and we can sort out next week

  11. Any crew that want a ride out i can assist from Pine Harbour, we leave some time after midday so you can afford a leisuely morning.
  12. and being part of the BBYC winter series there is already 7 confirmed 1020's and about the same 88's plus the two other divisions so 40+ boats already doing W/L racing in on the best water on the harbour
  13. Killwell tube. 60.3mm ID, 64mm OD 3.91m long, has been primed and 1 top coat of grey two pot paint. Was to be my new pole but have since decided is a bit light, ideal for an 88 or similar. Must be picked up from pine harbour. $200
  14. I insure my jolly boat with PIC, It came in under $250 for 7k and they linked it up so it gets billed with the other insurances with them, was insured by the time I arrive to collect it, easy as

  18. Got a mint optimist but at the moment it is pink and the boy wants it to be black, or green or just not pink so considering wrapping it as an alternative to painting, anyone done it before and have recommendations of a company, hull is perfect so planning on giving the current surface a light sand and then ......
  19. Broke one a couple of weeks back and haven't been able to find where you buy them from, tried a couple of stainless places. It is the black plastic cap and it pushes into the stanchion and the lifeline runs through it, Likely that it is very old but would like to source some replacements
  20. ring PIC they will insure nationwide and I have never had to get a boat surveyed using them
  21. what is the issue with the anode coming loose? I noticed mine was loose when I washed last time so planning on fixing it after xmas when I am out of the water mid Feb, doe sit just mean that the other three on the saildrive after the housing might deteriorate faster?
  22. also check out Farr1020.org.nz next association outing is a picnic in Jan but there is some good info there, if you a looking to see a normal 1020 then Farrari is a better option than Rawhide as we are one of the few with 2 quarter berths, this year we combined BBYC and PHCC for a single race and had 10 of us out
