  1. Cheers - she’s our 5th yacht so took a while to get there. Of all the ones we’ve owned Revolution Blues was my favourite with the exception of what we have now.
  2. Yip sure. We’re in an Elliott 1050 now. Happy to have a yarn and talk about main trim etc. look forward to a catch-up
  3. You wouldn’t believe! We’re on J36 😀
  4. Interestingly BP when we had Revolution Blues back then we used to keep her up in the Weiti as well. But the formula to use it was the right tide + the shift pattern for a nurse + shift pattern for me = use the boat. It got to be a bit difficult to get out there once the kids got to school age.
  5. They are boys ( 3 of them):-)
  6. Our boats at Gulf Harbour too it will be good to see it up there. I’ll keep an eye out for you. What pier are you going on to?
  7. We owned Revolution Blues in the early 90s. It used to be called Jon Chere and it came out of Half Moon Bay. I renamed if after one of my favourite Neil Young songs and put the bulb on it as well. When we had it there was an inboard 4-stroke petrol engine that ran through a sail drive. The owner after me pulled it out and added the outboard. like all Ross boats it likes to be sailed flat - ‘flat is fast’ - so plenty of twist in the sails, bring the jib car back early and then start cranking on back stay and adding plenty of Cunningham. You can’t sail with the main cleated off - you have to
  8. I use I Sail GPS on my iPad and iPhone. It’s not too pricey and works pretty well. Has all of NZ charts for no cost.
  9. Cool - thanks for that. Will give it a go 👍
  10. Morning All, does anyone have a good lead for online shopping for Yanmar bits and pieces like impellers, oil filters etc?
  11. Had you eased the sheet and the vang before trying to lower your main to the reef?
  12. Yeah you don’t want to pressurise it. The hose I use has a T fitting just after the tap that allows pressure water to run to waste. The water pump sucks what it needs and the flow can be adjusted with the tap
  13. On Vivaldi there is a hose fitting on the suction side just after the sea cock for the salt water inlet. We can shut off the salt water side and run fresh through it which is pretty handy for the occasional rinse out.
  14. Hi - what size human does it fit?
  15. Is Rouge the ex Margaritaville?
  16. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/boats-marine/yachts/keeler/listing/3100155432?bof=XiZV3Dji Currently on Trademe - some very evasive answers about the boat......
  17. Yip - it’s “thirty to two - no matter who” compression rates have changed multiple times over the years, but the emphasis is on pushing originated blood around the system. If the blood isn’t moving, then nothing is getting oxygen.
  18. https://sites.google.com/a/lotus106.com/www/home a bit about the boat.
  19. Just spotted the header at the top of the page about IT handing over the baton. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great work over the years. I’m sure the rest of the Crew.Orgers will agree. cheers
  20. Yeah if you’re just getting rid ofit then the same size or slightly bigger to drill it out - the key is to have something blocking up the hole that the guide bit can drill into to stabilise the hole saw.
  21. If you have a blank for the through hull - or put a wooden plug in and cut it off flush, then you can use a hole saw just slightly smaller than the through hull so you then easily pull out the remainder. Or if the new hole / fitting is going to be slightly larger you can just drill to that size.
