  1. Finished at 2.02 this morning. Epic ride to the finish, shame about the cutoff but I think we've proven to the powers that be we deserve to be in the RNI fleet. Gotta love the SSANZ organisation, one day will make it to one of the messirr parties! Hope to be back for the LEWMAR triple with a few others from Whangarei.
  2. Nah Elly you got it wrong. No time limit in this race. I have Moving violation next to me and Dont stop me now in front of me. Light as but this is what shorthanded is about. Also beer for morning tea with Radar so life is bloody good!
  3. 38 entries so far, this race should be EPIC!
  4. Very cool, three R930's and no T keels, go originals!
  5. Boy you gave it a decent thump. Interesting keel on her, bit thinner and shorter on the cord and slightly deeper to mine when we hauled out at the same time. From memory rudder came from another 930. Beut job on the antifoul removal.
  6. Zozza, look to the council. In the early nineties you could moor your boat in westhaven and WALK to 2 sailmakers a sparmaker, 4 chandlaries, 2 outboard mechanics, 2 canvas/squab manufacturers, 2 steelworkers plus a half decent lunchbar and 2 good yachtie friendly drinking establishments. All within a 300m radius or so of Sailors Corner. So the answer is rates, car parking and greed so your standard Auckland gripe. Boy I'm feeling old now!!
  7. 24 entries now, more under 10m would be great.
  8. Entry in, look forward to seeing the other competitors. Interesting having to have an AIS transponder (not complaining). Have been comparing the GME (cheap) and the B@G (have their gear).
  9. Very cool, notice his sail number NZL40. I assume it's the 40th boat made?
  10. Usually brass, both available ex-stock Fosters Westhaven.
  11. Alright the Start Me Up team did this course and can't say enough good about it. Many thanks to Dr Dave and Bek you did a brilliant job and we learnt heaps with confidence.
  12. Same with us, Dr Dave's course tomorrow.
  13. Results on SSANZ page with handicaps. Yellowbrick not quite set up I think.
  14. Congrats to Motorboat 2, great effort. Now to watch Gale Force and Titanium if very light winds. Will Gale Force have enough of a lead and miss the holes? Gotta luv close racing!
  15. Tide going out from Marsden Point until 11pm. Stick with it and the majority should be finished by 3-4am. Impressed how Bondi Tram going single handed near the SR26's. Wish more had their trackers on.
  16. I was going through all the RNZ you tube clips today, quite impressive the vast majority have over a 1000 views. Great for a non professional race, also value for those who choose to help the crews. Also for those of us that would contemplate this race in the future. Well done to all making this happen.
  17. Try blackwood paykles/nz safety next to trade surplus in whangarei, you might get someone that knows what they're talking about. Otherwise bunnings, where I get normal denso but good luck with anything else.
  18. Very nice, have noticed it on the Fosters site at $534 inc GST. Different philosophy to the RFD/Surviatec Ergofit jacket.

    Lanocote

Orca Prop protector, 250ml tub from Henleys Propellers, most Chandlers carry it.
  20. Thanks for the prompt reply Dave, will book myself and crew once link pops up.
  21. Do you need the Coastal Medic to do this course?

    Akarana 350

15 entries for a new long race. Not a bad effort. Two from Whangarei and 1 from Tauranga so not just an Auckland affair.
