I'm not alone. MOZZY agrees with me. Both Aussies and Canada might have pushed the boundaries. Good on em.

I watched on a mate's sky. I didnt use Vpn. It looks like it's now all up on YT. I watched some this morning:

So. I just watched a highlights package of the final. Who thinks Phil R went out the boundary on.purpose to make sure he could lay the red pole? He's a very cunning guy. If was intentional it worked a treat.

Still not on YT. They restrict it regionally to force you to get Sky (or not).
  5. Thanks IT. Did you feel there was enough racing? I've always wondered what it'd be like with only 3 v short races a day.

Sounds great. Not having skytv available its been a blank from.my perspective. I normally watch every race but it's not on YouTube for nz. I'm keen to know how Lyttleton worked out as there was a restriction on numbers. Not sure if getting down there from NI would be worth 40 minutes racing each day?
  7. We're you at the Sail Gp? I'd be keen to hear what you thought from a sailors perspective. E.g wasnit worth going to?. You could post something on tbe sail GP thread: Sail GP in ChCh.
  8. Holding tanks being dropped in tbe harbour by liveaboards is a problem evidenced by a simple sniff on occasions ive stayed on board at Bridge marina so you can expect some tougher regulation/enforcement soon. Id definitely look at Composting as BP suggests. BP - itd be fgood to know how often and how you have to empty your compost? (i was going to type empty your head but it didnt sound nice!)
  9. I think they deserve something better than staying aboard. The punishment they are taking seems to be extreme. I wouldn't back any of them to finish this leg. It's a long way to go.
  10. While the other two solutions proposed are what I'll probably do, I feel like a complete dummy as i don't know what a dry bowl action is? If you mean the empty bowl switch, I've tried it and the salty organism filled water doesn't purge. Also, for clarity the roten egg stink only happens the first flush when the head is first used. But takes an age for the odour to dissipate.
  11. I'm hooked on the boat building channels and the only sailing one i watch is the Sailing Brothers. Just real life simple sailors - no click bait.
  12. Does anyone have a solution for the stagnant water in the water feed line which reeks to eternity when first flushed after sitting for a week or more? I put the blue stuff(from Rv shop) in the bowl but can't get rid of the seawater in the line (which is quite long in my boat) - this goes off and stinks really bad.

Agree. I also wonder if you’d get tied up in it during a capsize?
  14. Does it have the rubber bung in the sole? I had one of those and it would pop out from hydraulic pressure when being towed. Something to watch.

So, Sydney day one (yesterday) was as eventful as last year. Ben Ainslie was the star turn (again) - lost a man overboard between the hulls still attached to his tether. It’s a must watch for anyone who wants to know what happens when you are dragged through the water at 40knots. Watch from 37.50: TNZ had a disappointing start in first race but recovered OK in races 2&3 and could have been alright if day 2 happened. It’s now been cancelled because another weather incident during pack down after first three races trashed a couple of boats with Canada’s rig
  16. Best decision. I’ve never understood why this simple precaution is not taken by everyone, nor insisted on by the Marina management. At the least it reduces windage on the rig but a few years ago one of these storms clipped Tauranga and the (small) number of headsails that unwrapped was hazardous.
  17. I definitely go with if you love it, it is worth it. I do, and it is.

    B&G autonoilot

Thanks Matt. a bit to absorb here. Tui is a F41. the equipment quoted is NAC 3 vRF AP core pack, Triton controller and RF300 rudder feedback assembly. we’ll do the pump inspections but did this a year ago and all looks in good order. Not sure we’d be needing H5000 but I’ll check the cost difference. Not sure I’d be cooking at 19knots with a genniker up! cheers.

    B&G autonoilot

Thanks A. How long have you had it?
  20. My Raymarine autopilot ha died after 17 years. I’ve been quoted to replace it with a B&G unit as we have B&G kit for everything else. we have hydraulic steering on our Farrier Cat. has anyone used the B&G? Good or not good? Easy to use/reliable etc? thanks
  21. Hi frank. pM me. I have one for a 12m catamaran to lend.
  22. Thanks EV. James at Enertec was first class to deal with. Very responsive and seemed to genuinely care that we got going again. despatched parts etc promptly. Great service and Highly Recommended.
  23. Thanks IT. pressure is around 800. it makes water at the service tube (to bypass the tanks) but won’t fill the tanks. so I guess it is a valve or switch problem? I’ll give enertec a ring.
  24. Does anyone know who services spectra water makers? We are in Tauranga. so preferably someone local. FYI It has stopped making water to the tank but does through the discharge line. ta
