Thanks for comments and recommendations. I have just ordered a Gori 15x10 two bladed floppy. Delivery in just over a week. I am a firm believer in the KISS principle. I had looked at Kiwiprops in the past and was pretty much talked out of putting one on a 20 hp Yanmar. I helped a mate once install a new Maxprop 3 bladed feathering prop. 4 hands were just about not enough and holding your mouth right while making sure the gears were set for the right pitch helped. When did Briski stop manufacturing 2 bladed folders? Unfortunately I dropped a blade off my prop on Sunday just before the entrance to HMB marina. Luckily the breeze was such that I could sail onto my berth. I rang Briski this morning only to be told they weren't manufacturing folders anymore and to look at putting a Gori or Volvo folder on my Yanmar SD25 leg. Not sure about the last option. I am currently waiting for the price and availability/delivery times for a Gori. BOIguy, how has your Flexofold worked out. What was delivery time like from Denmark. Anyone in Crew

What you are looking at is rs485 serial datagrams at a 9600 baud rate that contain wind speed and direction information. It is the protocol that Nexus use on the NEXUS/instrument data bus. The original NX2 wind transducers like the one I have just replaced connect to the wind port on the server and data encoding is done in the server whereas with yours and my new transducer the data is encoded and packaged in the head unit and the cable connects directly to the NEXUS/instrument bus. Whilst physically looking the same the difference between the Nexus wind transducer (wired) and the Garmin gWind transducer is in the output. The Nexus wind transducer outputs a pulse on the yellow and white wire where the pulse rate is wind speed and the pulse duration is the wind direction. The Nexus server decodes these pulses and outputs the data on the Instrument rs485 network/bus. The Garmin gWind does that pulse decoding up in head unit and outputs it as rs485 serial data which is why the Garmin gWind has to be wired to the Instrument rs485 network/bus. If the mast cable is connected directly to the Network/BUS port on the server instead of the Wind port then the wind transducer is most likely a Garmin Gwind transducer. There would be a short adapter cable at the top of the mast that converts the gWind cable to nWind (Nexus) cable. The gWind transducer looks the same as the NX2 transducer with the twin fins except the gWind has a blue Garmin on the fins. I am after a Nexus NX2 wind transducer (wired). I would also consider a still working Silva Nexus Classic wind transducer. A Garmin G-wind with G-wind to N-wind cable adapter will also suffice. Also after a NX2 multi control display or at a pinch a Silva Nexus Classic multi control in good readable condition. Cheers, Jon
